Maybe I will have better luck posting this here, what do you guys think?

So I am going to get a wideband and I need a new boost gauge too since I am already running over 30psi..and after looking at prices, I figure around 200 for the widband and 150-175 for the new boost gauge, plus I can sell my current one.

I saw this and it looks like a nice setup.

I know people use the zeitronix stuff quite a bit, is it truly good stuff? I was thinking get the Zt-2 wideband kit and get the MAP sensor for 35psi and hook that up to the lcd display. The pricing would be the same and I could find a better spot to hook it up and I could add egt later too which seems nice and log the data easy with their software.

Does this wideband need to be calibrated does anyone know? Is this good stuff, I am not sure what to get but this seems solid.

I would mount this under my AC controls I think and would be able to see my gauges again.

I haven't used one personally (I can't remember what I had on my 2G, I don't think it was a z) but they are pretty widely used and that combo gauge seems pretty nice. My only reservation is analog vs digital gauge, it's not as easy to watch a digital gauge when you're WOT with the glance of an eye, so just something to keep in mind.

True, but it's tough to watch any gauge aside from the tach when WOT too.

I should have something, but mounting options are terrible for the X for gauges. I am just running the 20 dollar universal mount for a 52mm gauge bolted onto my steering column. It works, but i can't see my speed under 40mph, lol. I am debating about getting an A-pillar mount since it does make it nice for viewing, however the X has a poor field of vision already. So then i was going to mount stuff under the AC control, where I won't be able to read it anyway, so who knows. Maybe I just buy evoscan instead with a tactrix cable and just do logs every once in a while. I remain confused on what to do.

+1, by far. There's no ecu-integration yet but I'm sure that's not too far off, otherwise a serial cable will work dandy. Logging > gauges IMHO.

Gauges are great, but I typically can't watch them anyway. Knock CEL is coming from Tephra so that will help a lot, hard to miss a blinking light, but gauges aren't too practical to watch during WOT and watching the road and your shift point. I still think I am going to get some new gauges as a WB isn't a bad thing to have but maybe I will wait a bit on that.

Yup. You can run the wideband to the laptop with a serial cable for now until someone figures out how to wire the wideband directly into the ECU for logging through EvoScan.

Is EvoScan able to log boost since you have the stock 3.3-bar MAP sensor?

I thought it could but I am not positive, i haven't played with it yet as I don't have it.

I just bought an OMNI 4 bar now though, so not sure if that will affect it or not.

^Good call, should be able to log up to about 32psi pretty easy....if you're over that though, won't help much :(

Do they have support for running different MAP sensors on the evoX yet? That would be the way to go (I run a PnP OmniPower 4-bar).

Yup, I have those...along with the AMI A-pillar (not installed yet). Rexpeed now has a "stick on" a-pillar that's a lot less expensive.

Keep in mind that you'll want a wideband anyway. You'll just feed the input into a serial port on your laptop when logging and leave it headless the rest of the time if you don't want a gauge.

Tephra recommends the Zeitronix so it should be great for that purpose.
