I ask Shane and other people all kinds of stuff whenever I get the chance.
I agree with that but I've been told different things by mechanics at the local shops as well. There just are no 100% correct answers to anything which is why I have gone with proven stuff (on somebody else's dime) even if it costs more. Saving $150 on this BOV to burn an extra hour of Shane's time wouldn't save me any money.

Perhaps you missed the same answer? I spend every waking moment on the Evo forums and I have *never* heard of anyone using a IX BOV on a X before. I've never seen a IX BOV on a commercial website being advertised as working on a X.
I'll let somebody else pay Shane by the hour to figure out if something is gonna work. Have you seen his rates? ;)
Don't take this as an attack, but sometimes you have to think for yourself.
I have to make/buy a lot of custom stuff because even the universal/DSM specific type pieces don't fit that well.
Plus you can't rely on someone else to do all the hard work.
I have an idea, next time you are looking for something post it up here. I see a lot of people with nothing to do that could help you research but considering using the people here will let you have people that have seen everything worth seeing that Mitsu has built (I hope that made sense).
Again, not an attack just a suggestion. Of course there going to be things 100% specific to the X.
Enough of this BOV talk, when is your dyno time going to happen? :sasmokin:

He doesn't have much experience working on cars so it is a little more difficult for him. It would probably be somewhere on the same level as you posting a windows 7 question and him responding by saying he has had to fix new bugs on windows 95 that haven't been figured out yet...

^Hence why I posted the rest of that post so maybe you should of read the rest of it?
And also a reason when I don't understand computer stuff I post up and ask here because I know that plenty of people know about computers here.
Now this being a mitsu site it might be a given we might know a little about mitsu's and maybe some other car shit.
Again, my previous post wasn't trying to be a smart ass I was making an honest suggestion.

I did think for myself and I bought a Coto sports BOV. The mistake that I made was answering Dave's question about the price in public. From now on all of my stuff was either free or stolen.

Shane will have the car until he's done with it.

I don't think that price is bad. Evo X shit is pricey, I've come to terms with that, I just don't think DSM guys understand because they can't justify buying a part for their car for that much that isn't necessarily needed. It's much cheaper to mod DSMs and they need to realize you pay a premium for a newer cars mods. Which I'm sure they understand but choose to ignore:)

I think you X guys are missing the point here. At the end of the day, the X is still a 4-cylinder turbo Mitsubishi, its not like the wheel needs to be reinvented. A little research would have shown the X and IX share the same stock BOV so logic would tell you that you can use the same upgraded BOV's that the VIII and IX guys are using. Why pay double the price just because its a newer car even though its the same thing? That logic just doesn't fly with me, nor will it with the majority of members on this board. We're here, as a board, to help, but when you make stupid decisions we're going to be more than willing to point them out to you. Consider it a learning experience.
I still say sell that over-priced stock BOV to some other newb on EvoM and just crush yours.

^ Not to mention it's a glorified Dodge Caliber as well:

^i agree, I'm not defending the choice as much as the price. I crushed mine, I looked into the options. I'm just saying parts are expensive because it's a new car. The decision to buy certain parts is another story.
Anyway, in Detroit now heading Mexico for work. No fun there but hey it's warm:)
