Awesome! I'm on Shane's schedule.
I have a mild fear that the Weldon 2015 won't be big enough but that's only because the X is so bizarre about its pump needs. This pump is rated for 1000bhp so it should be good into the 500s@DB on E85.
I lowered the flow using the dial-a-flow controller before driving to work this morning. It looks like I was out-flowing the capacity of the 1/4" return line a little bit since fuel pressure dropped 2-3psi. It's sitting right at 43 now, which is a good spot for it. Just need the fueling adjusted to match.

Torqued that oil feed banjo bolt and it tightened 1/4 turn. It'd be nice if that were the issue.
I changed the oil and left the under-tray off for Friday's visit with Shane. I can't tell if the Hobbs switch is kicking the pump into high gear or not. The car gets so loud during a pull that I'm not going to hear the pump change speed. I've done a couple half-pulls to 15psi and the AFRs look good @11.2-11.3.

That's good! Hopefully it stays that way. Does the Weldon controller operate a dual voltage setup then?

Not quite, it's an interesting device. It uses some sort of pulse modulation to limit the current but it always operates at the same voltage. You use a pot to adjust the amount of current sent to the pump at idle and then you send voltage to a terminal to trip it into full current. They say it is a 0.5v drop vs alternator voltage at 20amps.

It feels like Xmas Eve to me. I want this car done so bad.
I actually have as many spectator events planned for this season as driving. ChumpCar fascinates me. I'd love to join a team next year.

The Weldon worked perfectly from the first pull. The fuel tested as E81.
I was a bit surprised by the number for my 30psi tune. We dialed in my normal 25psi tune at 440whp.

I'll scan the sheets after work.

Dam those are some very nice number for a motor with low compression. Your car has an awesome power band. Hope I can get a ride in it sometime.

Mark Leasure was there to get his IX tuned after me. He was saying that he prefers lower compression and turning up the boost. I'll just drive it if the compression numbers remain where they are (115-ish).

Drive it until it smokes enough to bother you, then rebuild. No need until then. Mark is right, it's what I suggest, and I know Shane has said similar in the past as well.
