Why is the pump hanger thing able to move at all? shouldn't it be stationary in the tank at all times? Seems illogical to be moving around. One more part to cause problems.

FWIW if the initial torque doesn't fix it, replacing the crushwasher should still be the next step.
Definitely. On Wed I'll tighten it and spend a few minutes cleaning.

Not sure what Mitsu's reasoning was there. The X tank and hanger design is different than previous Evos.

Won't know until Proving Grounds, which is my next track day. There's no way to drive the car that hard on the street.

What about somewhere like 494/394 intersection where there's cloverleafs on all 4 corners? Go there late some night and keeeeep going right! Or wait, is the problem supposedly on hard left corners?

I guess I'm spoiled with nice roads where I live. :)

The working theory is that the surge tank holds ~45 seconds of fuel and after 6+ minutes of the tank sloshing in all directions, the surge tank was able to be emptied. The car has been solid on the street for a while now.
WOT for 6min while braking and turning would be pretty darn tough anywhere else.

Have you ever done road course? Sign up, man. The more Evos the merrier.
If some of you guys aren't busy then you should come over to the short course and at least hitch a ride. It's some addictive shit and it's nothing like the street, imo.

I just hope you don't pay the money and time for a track day, and find out the issue is still there. Story of your car, right? :P
Good luck!

My solution for all of the silly bolts on the SSP undertray.

I've always wanted to, but I can't afford it at all. The amount of work I would have to take off, and to get everything totally "safe" for the track would already me too much. Then there's the price of actually going to an event too. lol
