Saturday the car did not spin at all, I launched at 6000rpm for the 9.6 run and it did not spin at all. I need to launch higher, so I launched at 7000rpm sunday morning but the it spun hard due to the cold track and my great tires.
So if the track prep is perfect and the weather conditions are perfect I think the car can cut a high 1.5 60'. that puts it at the 9.0/high 8 second range.
But if I want to cut good consistant 60' times I will need the QTP tires. Then I can think of sub 1.5 60', but not with this tranny.
On the street from a 2nd gear roll it does not spin, so for the rest of this year I will be on the tires I have, I think.

Sounds like a great plan, just need to get the perfect track day to drive down that record!

Well I am out for the track this weekend. I still have a mountain of safety items to take care of, and the tranny is not happy shifting into 3rd or 4th gear at high rpm at the moment.
The issue is with the solid hub twin disk clutch and shifting at 9800rpm have taken its toll on the tranny.
Lucky for me its an easy fix, but I need to drop and tear down the tranny. Here is a link to the issue, last time I was in the tranny it had broken springs in the 3/4 hub and was showing the mushroom problem a little.

So I need to tear it down and see if the springs, which were new, are now broken and then tapper the synchro ring around the dogs to prevent the mushroom affecting shifting.
On a plus I drove the car to my parents house tuesday and saturday, I gave my dad and Ryan a ride. And drove my boat on the water for the first time in 10 years.

I did make it to the MAP dyno day, but just. I pulled the head off my car to replace some bent exhaust valves and drove it down there to see how the car did on an AWD DynoJet.
I replaced the 2mm oversized exhaust valves with 1mm over valves. I ended up lapping them in, which worked great and they sealed just fine.
We turned the boost down to 36psi and did some street runs on the way down there, everything looked good, if felt good on power for that boost level. We looked at the logs and made some changes, upped the boost to 40psi and the first run it miss fired a little and made just under 800AWHP at 40psi. So we added some timing where it was missing and the 2nd run was clean, 829AWHP and 554ft/lb at 40psi with a little less overall timing then it had when it was on the dyno early this year at DB Performance.
So we cooled the intercooler down and tried to up the boost again, shooting for 44psi, forgot to up the boost cut, fixed that and tried again, it missed a lot, and put down 860something.
At DB early this year at 40psi on the dyno dynamics it made 720 un corrected AWHP, and at the same boost level on the AWD Dyno Jet it made 829ahwp at the same boost, dang.
I figure a clean cooled down pull at 44psi the car would make low to mid 900's, which is right were it should be.

I should have pics and videos later this week, thanks Josh for helping tune and use your camera.
A big thanks to all the people that made this car possible: Ryan, Kyle, Josh, CP Pistons, Carrillo rods, Karl Ramm, KRAMM-LOX, Paul, Chuck at HTM, Shane at DB Performance, Jacks Trans.

That's a crazy powerband for a 4202. I would think you'd have no problems digging into the 8s on slicks and the trans holding together.

The car was running great. Then on the way home the keepers on the #4 cylinder #2 exhaust valve blew out. The valve dropped and some damage fallowed.
Here are the pics:

I am headed up to work to clean up the back up block and pick up my parts to finish assemble the back up motor. Then I will pull the tranny apart to fix 3rd/4th gear shifting and with any luck I will be at Cedar Falls the 9th.
