If nothing breaks I do not see why not. My red talon if run on a DD would have made about 420-440whp at best and weighed 3200lbs. I was able to run a hand full of low 11's best of 11.06@128mph. I had traction and shifting issues with that car also. So with 200 more whp and 600 lbs less weight a tranny that shifts and I should have traction, that is why I want to be a little optimistic. Every 100lbs is a tenth, I took out 300lbs from the galant back in the day and with no other changes ran almost on the noose 3 tenths faster.

He might be able to do it, if the tranny shifts at high rpms and he hooks up at all. I went 10.4 with a 1.79 60' my first time out with the old 67mm. I wasn't making as much power as he is and the car had to be somewhere in the 2950-3100lb range without me in it. If the tranny doesn't shift, then it won't do shit.

good 60ft. then no lift to shift 1-2 with no bog or spin you got it! I don't know about the rock, but cedar is the place that hooks.
Good luck.

I'm not saying he can't, or won't. I'm just saying it is very optimistic and I hope he does it!
And the reason I see it as optimistic is because, to me, a vehicle with that much done to it, and it's first trip to the track since when?, and the first time driving that car at the level it is at now, the probability of something not going quite right to run a low 10 is definitely there. Not saying he can't or won't at all.
Didn't mean to come across as Debbie Downer or something. Just saying you're optimistic, and that's good, and I hope you tear it up out there!!

It is tough to go fast, especially on a new setup. The more power I made, the harder it was to get a smooth clean pass. I'd guess some low 11's to start with some crazy high traps, and then low 10's the second time out with a little dialing in. :D

I am going to Rock Falls this saturday, the 7th for the test day, they should do good track prep. I am swapping the good tires on tomorrow and taking the car out for 1 or 2 good rips threw all 4 gears to see what it can do. I will have the camera mount on and recording for this.

Yes the setup is new, yes I only have a little seat time at this power level, yes I am optimistic about what I would like to get done at the track. If I take this thing out tomorrow and its spinning all over and/or grinding gears I will not go to the track, period. Thanks for the comments, I really do like having input on this stuff.
