Thanks everyone.
I did have a few funny looks at the track, only a hand full of people came to look at the car, but there was a wave of, WOW as the car ran down the track.
I plan on making it to the porkys shoot out in Cedar Falls, I will not be making more power, or uping the boost, I just plan to get a better launch and try a no lift to shift run. I am looking for a mid 9 second run or better.

This post was 6 years in the making. I am not saying, but I am just saying....
.... I'm excited to see what becomes of your galant.
It was almost 1 year in the making, but you seemed to like it.
... shifting is lame when all you are trying to do is keep it straight.
The car was straight as an arrow...
Good, hopefully that configuration will bring the spool down a bit. Still plan on spinning this one to 9500?
The twin disk and the other few things made it a lot better, and yes 9500rpm rev limit.
The return of the White Nissan! :D
Its to bad the tower was not saying anything all day, we had this on the tech card...
9500-10,000 rpm, I think with the head porting re-work and more shims under the springs the power should hold a little better then before. I knew the clutch would be an issue from day 1, if I go MT I will be doing a twin disk.
As for spool up, between the clutch, leaky bov, and at some point I lost a exhaust rocker and bent the crap out of that valve, its a lot better.

Spring/summer of 2010, I hope.
Yes the intent of the build is to take the #1 slot for the gvr4's. Street racing, not so much anymore but I do plan to show up at porky's and other local events with it. And no on the 16g, nothing smaller the GT4202...
I will run the 4 bolt at first, and have a few axels on hand to swap in as needed. Then I will look at drive shaft shop stage 5 rear axels vs a solid rear axel/4 link setup the main hold back with the stock rear end is if the axel does not break the ring and pinion are next. Then when the rear end does not break the transfer case and front axels become the problem. The goal is to make the car as light as possible, make as little torque as possible, and no wheel hop what so ever, if all this happens the drive train might hold up for more then 1 pass.
~John
ps Kevin I missed your post somehow.
... As for power to weight, we will see on both for the final numbers, but its looking like 2500lbs with me in it, and power, well 1000 crank hp should make this thing move at the track, But to start it will be E85 and around 7xx crank hp.
I was close on almost all the post's and goal's so far.
That tube front end is awesome John. I hope the car turns out like you imagine it will!
It is almost what I had imagined for this build.
... I hope this race season it can show a little of what it can do.
Wahoo! Congrats man! Now go run this thing down the track and make us all proud! 12's@150 or bust! :D
I think I did show a little of what it can do, and it was a little quicker then the 12's, but the 150mph is dang close.
I was looking for about 600whp to start, get the chassis setup and find a way to make the hp usable.
.. Sorry to rain on the parade, but I was expecting a lot more out of your setup. Didn't you make more when you had it running at the last shop?
610 awhp was all it made last time, and it was a short un usable power band. That was on c-16 and a little more boost then I am running now.
I know its not crazy power, there are stock bottom end cars close to what my setup made.
I can only hope some track time will show what the car is capable of, a dyno number is just that, a number.~John
The car does not make crazy power but it moves out.
Those are great numbers John! We all know that there's a lot left in it once you get more pump and better (and or more) injectors. I think it's obvious that this isn't meant to be some dyno queen. Now focus on using this 635whp to run some great times!
Back OT, I found a few 1/4 mile calculators and they say 8.8@153mph with 2600lbs and 740whp. So to address Brown mans question, I wanted 600whp, check, now I want to get as close to 8.8@153mph as I can then add more power.
So based on the numbers, C3L1CA your car was 16% slower on the ET and 3.5% slower on the MPH. Based on that I should be in the 10.2@147mph range. What tires and 60ft did you have at the track? The fastest GVR4 is a 9.5xx@something slowish like 145.

Theres a few more in the 9's but I would be ok with the #5 spot first time out and on e-85.
close again.
Low 10's on the first time out? Damn you're optimistic!!
It will still spin like a bitch John. :) You'll get traction in 3rd.
Have fun John and good luck!
Keep the paint off the walls!
As it were I was right, it did not spin like a bitch, and the only time I was near the wall was in the shut down zone. So in the end I was not that fare off, I posted what I wanted to make for power, what I wanted the car to weigh, and the times I wanted the car to run, I am a little behind on the times, but for only 2 runs with the car I could not be happier.

Badass times. You were right to be optimistic! Great work, and hope to see it in person go down the track someday!!!

Great job on the shake down runs! So close to single digits!

Good job John, no lift to shift is hard to do at 9500 i think cause i cant seem to do it. Get them 60s down to 1.5s and your going mid 9s.
