A little update on the car. I got my shortblock on Monday. It's a MAP stage 2 with a kiggley main girdle. So i can concentrate on the head now. I'm not 100 percent sure what route I want to go with the head yet. I'm going to order a rebuild kit for the twin disk then the shortblock will be going back into the car. It will be nice to finally be able to do some work on it.

Looks like the carnage I experienced when I had a valve fail too. I was gently cruising at 50mph when it happened to me. Never did figure out the reason why but valve failure was the only yhing that made any sense. The stock valves are a 2 piece design, so I guess it could be possible.
Good luck getting her back up and running.

Lol very similar I was cruising at 60. Mine weren't stock valves though. Now that I got the shortblock the hard parts over should be up and running before it snows. Then tuned and driveable next spring

I dropped the cylinder Head off at the head shop this morning and they said they think a valve seat dropped and that's what caused the valve to break. They also said that every valve hit a piston and is bent. Not sure what happened there either.

Yeah idk everything swiftys told me about the engine that was in it seems to have checked out for the most part. He said he got the valves from Brent Rau so either the valves were bent when he got them, it was mistimed, or the cams were degreed wrong or the cam gears slipped. Idk lol. Pm me and elaborate on what you've heard if you don't mind.

Thanks! The head will be done this week or next. So just a few miscellaneous parts and and the the engine is going back together. The just need to get the cams redegreed and the engine will be going back in. It will be up and running sometime I am the next month or two. Then work some bugs out and get it tuned next spring and she'll be ready to rock
