Indeed! I need to get all the charts/data/video/pictures together, but quickly I will say... :D <---that says it all!

Lets see, where to start...today was a pretty damn epic day. I honestly don't think I've been this excited about car stuff in a LONG time.

Quick back story:
Ever since I got GheyrodX tuned back in July I haven't been real happy with it. It drove really well, perfectly smooth, etc., but it was really down on power (especially torque) compared to where it "should" be. What really made that apparent and when I realized I needed to do something is at the NTEC dyno-day last month; my car was getting owned by even basic stock intake/stock catback X's. AFR's were spot on, it took a little timing but not much, and I was just sick of dicking with it.

Last weekend we got the MAP FMIC installed, but today was the big day. First I started it off by installing a Grimspeed 3-port BCS then limped it to Cobb Tuning staying out of boost the best I could.

Today's plan:
1. Completely retune the car with an Accessport
2. Install MAP o2 eliminator downpipe
3. Retune again for hard back-to-back data on the downpipe

1. Prior tune (stock FMIC w/MBC) vs. Cobb tune (MAP FMIC w/3-port):

http://accessecu.com/dyno/graph.php?gb=0&afr=1&boost=1&rpm=1&sl=1&sln=1&runid1=1155&rgb1=000000255&runid2=1348&rgb2=204000000

2. Downpipe install (please note the care they took, covered everything possible to prevent scratching or damage):

3. Stock o2 housing & downpipe vs. MAP o2 eliminator downpipe:
http://accessecu.com/dyno/graph.php?gb=0&hp=1&torque=1&rpm=1&sl=1&sln=1&runid1=1348&rgb1=000000255&runid2=1349&rgb2=204000000
http://accessecu.com/dyno/graph.php?gb=0&afr=1&boost=1&rpm=1&sl=1&sln=1&runid1=1348&rgb1=000000255&runid2=1349&rgb2=204000000

SOLID GAINS!!! To those who say they're worthless on stock turbo/pump gas setups...eat it :)

Woot! I'm shocked the 3-port and AP made such a difference. The o2 downpipe is definitely worth it on any setup, super nice to see a before/after on the stock turbo. The piece is so nice it'd be hard for it *not* to make power over the stock question-mark o2 housing!

Wonder where this thing would be at DB now, its gotta be over 300whp and 320wtq. Fantastic numbers for simple bolt-on parts! Finally teh gheyrodX will be able to hold its own on the streets of dall-ass? :D

Congrats!

Such an epic post and you failed to mentioned that your good buddy Rmondoh took awesome pictures for you but most importantly, you didn't comment on the tune/ride on your ride back home!! EPIC FAIL! :p

Pictures of the day can be seen here :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/rmondoh/sets/72157625377859768/

Now for some random comments on things throughout the day:

1. This is for Scheides' comment above regarding the 3port and AP. Kracka thinks that the reason why the gains are so drastically different is because the 10's ECU just DOES NOT like MBCs. He told me that he fiddled with boost, timing, etc and he just couldn't make it any better.

2. Took a picture of Kracka taking a picture of the AP. I'm sure some of you guys got a text saying "WTF is this thing?" followed by a picture. Well, now you know the source of that text. :)

3. As for MAP's o2/dp, there needs to be a slight tweak on it. The o2 bung needs to be moved to the original location. The place where it is now is not very good. Here's some pictures.

(You can barely see the bung behind the bolt here)

4. Now I fell asleep watching TV ~10pm and just woke up and found that this thread was posted (along with a text from Kracka). Having read and looked at the graphs and having the adrenaline high wear off so that I'm thinking more clearly now, I'm not sure if the o2/dp is worth it. Don't get me wrong, I love that it made gains and I was just as excited as Kracka to see the results, but we need ONE more test to see what the real difference is. Hear me out...

Discussing (well listening on my part) with Chris@Cobb about the o2/dp, Cobb says that the restriction is not the o2 housing but the downpipe portion itself. That is the reason why Cobb only makes the downpipe section and not the entire o2/dp. Looking at the gains between stock o2/dp vs MAP's o2/dp, I wonder how much is actually provided by the o2 eliminator and divorced design. The gains are small enough to where going from the stock downpipe diameter of 2.5" (or whatever it is) to a full 3" MAY BE the difference that provided the gains and not necessarily the o2 elim part. MAP's o2/dp does have a wider diameter downpipe as well and the whole thing really is a 3" pipe from turbo outlet to testpipe flange. However maybe the o2 housing bellmouth flows just as well given how it was designed. Just something to consider. Maybe Cobb DID do their research correctly. :) Thoughts on this?

Perhaps Chris@Cobb might be willing to do another super awesome deal to someone willing to lend their car for some testing. Hmm...
