I apologize for the name calling. Some people love to say democrats are all about "raising taxes", but never fully explain how many would get higher taxes and exactly how much HIGHER they will be. I have seen how much they will go up and i certainly would not bother using taxes as a reason to vote republican. Look for yourself there are plenty of sources.

Some people call obama a socialist because he said spread the wealth. Let's not forget we are ALL socialists now because $700 billion dollars of our money just bailed out wall street, and apparently they need more now.

I would like for someone to explain how mccain can be trusted after his involvement in the keating five? Never heard of it? Once again look it up.

Well all I am going to do is sit back, crack open a ice cold Grain Belt, and watch the fall of the American empire as we have known it. All I have to say is good luck America if Obama is elected and good luck to Minnesota if Franken is elected.

I also voted NO on the land/water ammendment, all I need is another 3/8% sales tax to bring it almost to 11%, will it never end?

However, I did vote yes for the school bond or whatever it's called to pass.

LOL, yeah, way to make a political prediction of impending economic freefall DURING a freefall.

Ill bet if America isn't healed completely in the first month of Obama's term, you will feel vindicated.

Do any Obama supporters realize that the markets are cyclical and always will have peaks/troughs? They can't just keep going up up up forever like the dems want you to believe.

I don't think 96GSXMN was referring to just the financial status of the country though. I happen to agree with him as well. Obama doesn't have a clue what this country needs; he is nothing more than a celebrity who likes hearing his own voice and seeing his picture on TV.

This is only the beginning of the economy taking a shit. We are just seeing some turtlehead poking out now. As more companies continue to do big layoffs, things could cascade farther and farther when the laid off stop buying anything and there is competition for even shit jobs. I think it's going to take a quite a while to recover regardless of who gets elected. We fucked ourselves by letting corrupt anti-American companies like Walmart force all of our manufacturing to countries like China, then sell it back to us and then people can only afford to shop at shitholes like Walmart. Maybe we will get lucky and things will get better soon, but it doesn't look good with so many companies closing and the big automakers doing horrible.

Our market and its consumers demand and force companies to purchase/sell products manufactured overseas since we're always looking for the cheapest prices. We're ALL at fault for this. Low prices drive consumers and WalMart has enabled a lot of people to have things they could otherwise not afford; plus they've brought many jobs to small towns and employed people who are otherwise unemployable. With things looking increasingly worse for GM I'm a bit worried. If GM falls so will many other companies that supply to them. The blame for that is not on our economy but on our over-powerful unions and the poor decisions GM made regarding them back in the 70's when profits were strong.

It's not just the fact of jobs being shipped over seas. Were in this mess because of all the banks and home lending places literally giving out mortgages to every mother fucker that couldn't afford them; note that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had over $5,000,000,000,000
worth of mortgages!!!

AND NOW WE THE TAX PAYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT!!!

At least we'll get some kind of fucking stupid rebate down the road that we can all go out and buy lots of alcohol with.

Plus, even if the economy takes a dump, it's not just us that go down, the whole damn world gets sucked into the black hole with us. I know you've all noticed Europe has been bailing out banks left and right (not literally, but a number of countries have done this already) and every time the market here goes down 500 points, Japan's market tanks 5%. So at least were all in this together, one big happy world.

I thought Kracka graciously bowed out ;) ^Maybe this will give us a chance to start fresh with financial markets and a banking system that makes sense.

Settle down sparky. I already did my part today (i voted) I voted for McCain and Norm. I am a life long Republican and am always been that way. What the hell else am I supposed to do? Sit on a roof with a rifle and wait for the winner? Huh? How am I supposed to fix the economic free fall that we are in? I don't have any loans that are going into foreclosure, I go to work and spend my money in America, i pay my taxes every year. So what do you want me to do? huh? I am also talking about what I am going to do tonight while people are freaking out about who is getting elected, i am going to take the approach of drinking a Grain Belt and see how stupid or smart the American public have become (epically if Franken is voted in then this state is retarted)
