It seems like the smaller Bluemax are fine to tune, but so are any PTE, RC, whatever 1200s. They might be a good option if you need a 1350 or 1450. It seems like a lot of people are having trouble with the 1650s though.

I decided I'm gonna pull my tranny just for fun saturday (well at McDonald's today I heard a weird noise as I'd slip my clutch to accelerate, and Shane and I heard something kinda funny too.) So it's more for piece of mind that all is OK, I will probably replace the flywheel bolts, hammer those suckas on there with my impact + red loc-tite (which they already were), throw in some new tranny fluid, maybe axle seals. I wonder how fast I can do it all. A few hours I'm sure!

Lets see who can get there car done first. Your tranny or my dam new oil pump!

I have had 1600's for 2 years now and never had any issue with getting the car to idle. I am running 414 cams, e85, dsmlink, and gm maft.

From time to time, I hear about people having flywheel bolts backing out, and struggling with the issue. Has anyone considered just drilling holes in the heads of the bolts, and safety wiring them? So quick and simple.

We are hoping that once he switches to E85 that the Bluemax 1650s become easier to deal with. The normal 1600s on E85 usually aren't too much of a problem with the factory ECU.

I stopped at Mitsu today, got a new throwout bearing, 6 fly bolts, and axle seals. But I'm feeling kinda lazy. I don't know if I feel up to pulling the tranny. (Although I have literally done it about 14 times, not exaggerating lol).

I'm right with you on that count. Get to it man, just to think if you weren't lazy you could roll down to hooters tomorrow with that beast.

I decided I'm lazy. I'm just going to re-wire my fuel pump and make a proper intake today.
