Re: Buschnuts calls out Magnus
Well, it looks to me like we have a winner. Magnus.
Despite the bad things buscher said, he came up with dyno graphs and as long as they aren't fake or lying, then it gained like 90hp at 9k rpm, although I don't know why they'd rev it that high while breaking it in, but whatever. Not like it needs it anyway.
Congratulations Magnus. btw, if it cracks welds, you are running too much boost.

Re: Buschnuts calls out Magnus
Take the second chart and only rev it to 7000RPMs, then it wouldn't look good. The stock Evo intake manifolds don't give it up as early as the DSM ones, so I wouldn't doubt if half the guys buying them don't rev their cars high enough anyways to make use of it.

There really does seem like buschur has a lot of people swinging from his nuts. When ever he says anything they are quick to say "WOWOW GOOD POST I LOVE YOU!"

This entire community is based on nutswinging and previously obtained results.
You need to blow someone out of the water, out advertise them, and be cheaper in order to get the masses to notice you, its not fucking worth designing shit anymore unless you can sell it for 1/2 market value or have a million dollar marketing team.

1. The entire world is, not just the car community.
2. Why design something if its not better than what already exists unless its far cheaper? Its not news that people aren't going to give the "new guy" a chance unless he has something to offer that the "old and established" don't. There are still plenty of new guys in the game and the ones doing well and moving products are the ones who are able to do something that others haven't.

Yeah thats pretty much the name of the game for any product.
As far as nut swinging goes, people must be doing things right for that to be happening... a lot of the accomplishments and things the Buschur team does is obviously worthy of some respect.
Whether you are a lover or a hater, you can't deny the numbers they make.

Who cares? Lots of people make great numbers without crying when someone else does something better. Buschur's an ass.

This is true, you need to find a cheaper supplier for materials, a cheaper place to operate, or make huge improvements over the favorites to make customers "bite" (or a great marketing team with good $$'s).
Doesn't surpise me one bit that Buschur and Magnus are going at it on this one, it was only a matter of time. Personally there are plenty of people in this community that will replace a perfectly good stock part because xxx person says so or they read it on xx thread that its better.
The proof is in the pudding and since most of these guys don't back to back dyno test/road test/flow bench, you will never know.

So, what you're saying is that I should weld a t3 flange to my stock exhaust manifold, because it's worked for 20 years already, why would it stop working with a different turbo attatched? That is some thinking right there. (thanks for the idear!).

Exactly, for any product to succeed you need product differentiation. Your product has to stand out from the crowd, whether it be price, looks, quality, function, etc. Just being different doesn't mean it will sell though. Look at the Pontiac Aztec

Re: Buschnuts calls out Magnus
A few places make adapters for putting T3 turbos onto the stock DSM exhaust manifold, but the turbo hitting the block can be a problem and might need a spacer plate between the head and exhaust manifold.

Thanks, but the quest manifold doesn't work with dsm turbos. different flange. I was just rambling anyway.

Re: Buschnuts calls out Magnus
Anyone else notice on the Magnus manifold (look at last page in the thread of the 1st post in here) that their velocity stacks only are tapered ~15degrees and not flaired out/rolled out at the top (inside the surgetank)?
Anyone else think this is odd? (keep in mind I have never designed one on my own, but I have seen a bunch of them) Just looking for insight.

That is the old design.
Since then they have them completly rolled. and they have a "taco" to prevent the splitting.
See pics of my manifold.
