You need to blow someone out of the water, out advertise them, and be cheaper in order to get the masses to notice you, its not fucking worth designing shit anymore unless you can sell it for 1/2 market value or have a million dollar marketing team.
1. The entire world is, not just the car community.

2. Why design something if its not better than what already exists unless its far cheaper? Its not news that people aren't going to give the "new guy" a chance unless he has something to offer that the "old and established" don't. There are still plenty of new guys in the game and the ones doing well and moving products are the ones who are able to do something that others haven't.

This is true, you need to find a cheaper supplier for materials, a cheaper place to operate, or make huge improvements over the favorites to make customers "bite" (or a great marketing team with good $$'s).

Doesn't surpise me one bit that Buschur and Magnus are going at it on this one, it was only a matter of time. Personally there are plenty of people in this community that will replace a perfectly good stock part because xxx person says so or they read it on xx thread that its better.

The proof is in the pudding and since most of these guys don't back to back dyno test/road test/flow bench, you will never know.

So, what you're saying is that I should weld a t3 flange to my stock exhaust manifold, because it's worked for 20 years already, why would it stop working with a different turbo attatched? That is some thinking right there. (thanks for the idear!).

A few places make adapters for putting T3 turbos onto the stock DSM exhaust manifold, but the turbo hitting the block can be a problem and might need a spacer plate between the head and exhaust manifold.

Thanks, but the quest manifold doesn't work with dsm turbos. different flange. I was just rambling anyway.

Exactly, for any product to succeed you need product differentiation. Your product has to stand out from the crowd, whether it be price, looks, quality, function, etc. Just being different doesn't mean it will sell though. Look at the Pontiac Aztec
