No, I assumed they were stock but I see that's not the case. AMS is getting a rather ridiculous $500 for such a kit. Half that price might be worthwhile. I'll have to see if anyone else makes a kit.

Just wanted to add something about the price of the project. Dont feel bad. A good friend of mine in california named Paul Dentice, put over $75,000 (after discounts) into his project. R33 Nissan Skyline GTR. His setup maxxed out at 900+hp, He went to the Sport Compact Magazine Ultimate Streetcar Challenge and placed like 3rd i think, He got beat out by an NSX that had $250,000 in receipts. Whats funny is that though my friend didnt win, he did win all of the events that mattered, He actually tuned his car down to a fun 666hp just so he could look competitive in the events like "Emmissions testing" and "Gas Milage". But he had a lot of fun in that car and im sure you will to. He ended up selling the car for $90,000 with a lot of the parts off of the car. Now he has a Nissan Silvia S15 from japan, that is about the cleanest car ive ever laid eyes on.

If you plan on street driving the car, don't get some totally ridiculous track brakes. You won't ever be able to heat them up enough to stop on the street and the noise will drive you and your neighbors crazy.

Well if I threw in that body kit, some Bride seats, and a few odds and ends then I'd have a $70k Evo or somewhere in there. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if I did take it there eventually since I always go too far with my hobbies.
For 2010 I'm pressing 'pause' with the parts I've already bought. I'll have labor costs for my install and I don't know yet what that'll end up costing.
I get a kick out of watching those 'West Coast Customs' TV shows but I'm not a professional sports player making $1M/yr either.

I'm going with DS2500 pads, that's already decided. The brake ducts sound like a good idea but not for now. I need to get my stuff installed and focus on the driver mod this Summer.

A few more pieces arrived today. I've been waiting on this Cusco front strut tower brace for four months! The Specialty-X test pipe and Cosworth MX1 cams are here.
The BB-X turbo is shipping on Monday or Tuesday. That means all I'm waiting for is the BlaqOPs double-pump kit and a set of Cosworth valve springs...then the build begins.

Somewhere in my Mitsubishi information vault I remember something about the location of the stock knock sensor being important, and the stock knock sensor itself being a good device. I guess I don't understand the point of having an aftermarket knock sensor when the stock one is perfectly fine already, especially when the stock knock sensor is threaded into the block and there are no guarantees that an aftermarket one will perform as good as the stock one.

^this. Unless it's some sort of add-on knock sensor or something and you're having it just for show/shit's and grins I wouldn't replace the stock unit.

The X knock sensor is different from what the DSM's and VIII/IX's have. I'm sure Shane will respond and give more details since he is the one who explained it to me.

I love all the chassis bracing! I know the X is already quite a bit stiffer than the VIII/IX, but I installed a 6-point lower brace and it made a noticeable difference on my car.

No, this doesn't replace the stock one. This is just a knock indicator light for monitoring purposes. Your options are to wire it into the stock unit or add a secondary for it. Since they are only $50-80 I don't see a reason not to add a second one.
The X's are known for having questionable fuel pump relays and now that I'm upgrading to a double-pump, that's just more things to fail. Beefing up my monitoring capability seemed prudent.

He has commented that the knock detection on the X sucks but I don't know if that's due to the stock sensor's quality or its placement.

That's the big advantage that the Cusco has. The price is higher than the competition but no modifications to carpeting or trunk plastic is required.

I finally got a tracking number for the valve springs and they will arrive on Monday. I spoke to BlaqOPs on the phone and he thinks I'll have it next Friday. Everything is on schedule for an install in the second half of the month, then.

I've had some crazy vibration under the hood ever since I installed that Cusco tower brace. I'm going to pull it off tonight and try removing the heat shield for the exhaust manifold. Logically you'd think it was the strut brace since that is the only thing that changed but man is it solid the way that it is mounted. The only way it could be making that noise is if that lightweight aluminum is working like a tuning fork!
I received the TurboXS Knocklite and Boomba 75mm throttle body and catch can. I had previously purchased a Perrin catch can but the Boomba is aluminum and looks better.
I received a few inquiries and photos from BlaqOPs regarding my fueling system. That should be shipping out at some point this week. I'm thinking about ditching my AMS fuel rail and buying a Boomba instead. The Boomba uses stock quick disconnect fittings that will mate up with the BlaqOPs filter better. The Ultimate Racing filter that I'm using is noisy so getting rid of it wouldn't break my heart.

Damn, you have a lot of stuff. Looks like you should have just bought a chassis  . Regarding the brake ducts, I will probably try to work something myself on the car I will be building.
