Yeah we designed a stainless steel unit and had them investment cast out of stainless steel. They are on sale right now on the big boards (3si.org) for $895 shipped.

What I like about Buschur is.... They made a deal with Medina Mitsubishi to make a package deal. Basicly you get either a 330hp Evo 8 or a 350hp Evo 8. And have the 330 or 350 Buschur logo stamped on your car. The best part is...they still honor your warrenty too. So if something breaks take it back to Medina Mitsu and get it fixed. Yes it cost more but eh...that was a great deal for Buschur. I do not know if AMS did the same deal with there local Mitsubishi Dealer. I don't know if Medina still offers that deal. I bet they do but eh.
And I am sorry for thinking that the Evo8 guys have the MIVEC system on there 9 second cars. My misstake.

Re: The 3S Gauntlet has been laid
I like the 3S's. But as far as going fast, the owners besides Josh, Jannusch, that pretty boy from Wisconsin, and a select few others, are not out to race, unlike 80% of the DSM crowd. They're fast enough stock, but like the NSX or 300ZX crowd, just not modified like the DSM's are. I can't wait to get some of these rivalries to the track next spring.

They are pretty quick stock.
What surprises me is how many 3000gt's I've had over 330awhp (pump) and how many local dsm's can't get close to breaking that (pump). I haven't had to many race gas dsm's, but 400 seems to be the "hard mark".
If it wasn't for the damm weight....
The fact is the aftermarket. The 3s was marketed to a different crowd. The "old" dsm crowd has moved on to EVO's now, with a scattered few moving to the 3s camps.

400awhp DD is the hard mark to hit on race gas DSMs or pump gas?

Re: The 3S Gauntlet has been laid
I have yet to see a mivec evo run faster then 10's or 11's. Last I checked, evo 8's where the fast cars, and people even swap that mivec head out for hte 8 head, and cams. Also, AMS didn't do any kinda deal for the evo. They just run theirs. Yes, semi-smart move on busc-her's part, but then again I don't care. He's a whiney little fuck, who cries over everything, so whatever.

The point is you can have a rock solid reliable 3S with the same horse power "most" (not all) DSM owners pay for with a lot of down time and money.
Look at every DSM dyno day. Half the cars don't make it, and the ones that do make it run like shit (my DSM included). I daily drove my 3S for 4 years (90,000 miles) at BPU levels, with no major issues and no tuning what so ever I'm betting there are very few DSMs with the same horse power that can match that.
On the other hand if you want a fast project car that goes beyond BPU, DSMs will always be faster. 3Ss just have too much of a weight disadvantage.

So you don't like the BR Evos? How about an FP666 Evo then?

You just haven't had the real DSM players up there yet.
I made over 400 awhp on pump at a measly 21 psi. Granted it was Steve pump, but 21 psi is doable on piss water with an AEM.

I don't know, I drove my car for years at the ~340 whp level on pump, 391 whp on C16 with nary a problem. And I even put about 150 passes on that setup at the strip. DSM's are pretty reliable if it's put together right.
I miss the days when 4 out of the 6 cars in the 12.0-12.5 class were either DSM's or 3S's at RF. Even Curt was out racing between applying coats of wax between rounds.

400 period from what I've seen. 300awhp on pump and your doing pretty good on your more than basically modded dsm. 400awhp on pump and well..I haven't seen that on straight up 92 octane, but we haven't had many "Huge" dsm projects come in and dyno, and none of our 4g63 project cars are done yet.
Most dsm's rock below 300awhp from what I've seen, most 3000gt's can hit 300awhp fairly easily. Unfortunally there is a huge weight and price difference between the 2.
