Well Swanny, the bar has just been raised. Apparently some 3S guys in NC just ran a 9.66 at 139mph in an auto AWD 3S. Looks like the auto movement permeated into the big brother camp as well.

It is an automatic that was a 6spd a week or two ago.
There are 2 other automatic 3s's being built as well.
Dynamic racing still has the fastest manual transmission 3s at 9.73 something.
That 9.66 run wasn't perfect. I talk to 3sx and I don't want to know the $$ they have into that fully custom automatic setup.
I'll stick with my liberty modified transmission for next season (as long as they can get it done for me) thank you very much.

Another 10 years and they might catch up to the current quickest DSMs and Supras. :)

LOL, yeah thats a dsm.
If thats the case, the 3s's have been in the 7's for a few years. There is a prostock team running a 6g72 in a 3g eclipse.
Brent's eclipse is more like an "eclipse". Johns talon is a talon...everyone else is way behind (besides a few individuals).
Normal DSM's wall in the 11's, then 10's, then 9's is a huge hurdle.
3s's are about a second behind. 12's are easy, 11's are work, 10's are an accomplishment, and a select few are in the 9's.

Good point! The 4g63 is pretty new to the U.S., so that is a huge accomplishment.
What is with the 3s hating? Isn't this Mitsustyle? The 3000gt/stealth community is finally starting to get aftermarket support.

Yeah once 3S' get cheaper and cheaper I think the aftermarket will get larger. That's the main reason Honda and DSM's are insane with aftermarket parts. You're not making a huge car payment so you can afford to mod.

I totaly agree with this statment. I respect the 3S guys alot. I mean wow to take a yaht and put that in the 9's is great. I bet if Swanny could hook up he be close. Or even there. We don't know what that Stealth can do with a clean run.

But I think the reason why the Evo's are so quick to get in the low times...is the Mivecc they have on the 4g.... Unless they are not running that. I know the FTO's have it.

So why is it big news when a 3S runs a 9, and that same number hardly garners a yawn in the DSM crowd? :D Oh yeah, there twelve times as many DSM's running 9's or better compared to the 3S crowd. ;)
