Is that legal the way the 2 going straight back don't go directly to plates?

That is one of the things we are 'checking on'. The rear of the car is left to ALOT of interpretation. I've seen 'legal' cages with this method before, we'll just see what the inspector says before we move forward. (fully weld in). The other items of question are where the strut mounts have to tie in (90% sure on this one) and how they expect us to "stiffen" inside the driveshaft tunnel to absorb "80% of the vehicle weight in case of a roll over". Its a strong unibody design, but he is hell bent in requiring us to have frame rails in a unibody :(.

I have seen the rear strut bar design on a few roll cages I looked at, I like the idea and plan on tying my rear strut towers into the rear strut bar. We are also looking into a more indepth rule book on roll cages, or just talking with the inspector, I want to know what I can and can not do. But it looks more like the cage will be certified for an 8.5@150mph(NHRA spec), if thats the case that will be the time to shoot for.

Once we get the okay, we'll button it up, get it certified, and off to paint.
Have a good weekend all!

and then ryan gave me a sweet deal on an IOU for his rims. Glad I still have some credit after that QPR fiasco ;). I also cleaned up my calipers and painted them black with my abs delete.

LOL, the rims were sitting here, and i was running out of stuff to do on the car w/o getting more parts. I am waiting on a crank pully to get here, then that and the clutch go to the machine shop for balancing. Then its assembly time of the shortblock, finish porting the heads, get the valves put in..etc..etc...etc..

Gotta love the wheel gap! Sad thing is, it will probably have 4" of wheel gap once the motor is in it :). They are actually 5zigen FNO1RC's. 17x9 +35mm offest, bronze. I didn't think they would look good, but blue cars can pull off bronze rims, subaru proved this (so did nissan).
So this summer will be suspension, brakes, and new tires.
