View Full Version : 2009 Fall Dyno Day - Oct 3rd @ MAP
Yes, you have to pay to pre-register. You can give me or hughes cash in person if you like, but I really want to encourage everyone to use this registration system as much as possible. It makes things very slick since there's so many people involved.
You can be one of the first cars on if you want, we try and accommodate everyone's schedule's as much as possible, the only issues we ever have is when someone is trying to get their car together the day of, and they want to be 'one of the last cars' but we usually end up sitting around waiting for them.
I'll get you with cash then. I only want the first or a late slot because I sleep during the middle of the day. Despite its appearance the Colt has been pretty damn reliable, and I wont have to screw with it the day of.

I work till 3 but can make it out after work..not dynoing though.
Well, if I can talk my brother into bringing his truck down I think he would beat alot of people at least on the torque anyways...
There is a local viper club member with the SRT-10 truck and the Hennessey 1000 twin turbo kit. It dynoes 1000 rwhp on high boost, not sure on the tourque...
I bet MAPs car is LOUD.

Is it black? If so I have worked on the truck, a few times.

Not sure if my brothers truck has that much HP, but the torque should be over 1000 anyways. For some reason diesels just make a shit load of torque

Yes. It says Hennessey 1000 on it also. You probably helped fix some of the poor workmanship that has been seen with many hennesey projects. Beilieve it or not, the owner before the current owner probably paid 30k or so for the TT setup on that car. The current owner got the truck for a good deal considering the mods but has had to get some work done on it since.

It's because of the whole 5252 rpm equation, and the fact that 6k rpm is considered pretty high for a diesel engine.

diesels can't go past 4 something. Some kind of physical impossibility with regular diesel fuel, I believe.

Diesels are usually for gas mileage or pulling. You usually pull best with torque, you make more torque at lower rpms. You get better gas mileage at low rpms too. They are usually heavy rotating assembly motors, built to run very high boost to make high torque at low rpms and get gas mileage while doing it and not built to spin high rpms. Pro diesel tractor pullers might see RPMs in excess of 6000 though, but they aren't exactly a street truck/car made to last forever and save gas.
