Yep, his car is done as it sits, need to be broken in! I had fun washing off maybe a year of crusted on dirt and grime yesterday.

Well, Friday night when I attempted to pick it up, I thought I had fried the transfer case. I had it towed back to Primo because that was my only option at 11:30 Friday night. Today they looked into it, I had already sourced a new transfer case over the weekend, I figured bingo bango put in new t-case, and be done. WRONG. It ended up being the transmission. Mike pulled the drain plug and very little fluid came out.

It developed a leak somewhere while I was doing vacuum pulls on the way back, it still shifted just fine, but it started to howl leading me to think it was the transfer case. I pulled over into a gas station as soon as I heard the noise, and by that time apparently the fluid was almost all gone. Mike said when he pulled the drain plug, it had a burnt smell and there was a thin coating of fluid all over the bottom of the car. Makes me wish I would have picked it up in the daylight so I could have possibly seen this, Primo is currently trying to figure out where exactly it leaked from to see where I should go from here as far as the warranty from TRE. Once we know where/what it leaking from, I will contact TRE and go from there.

This was the last straw for me, I am done with DSM's. I will be parting this thing out. PM me if you want any parts.

Sorry if this disappoints anyone, but I've just been through way too much with this car. I had to pull the plug at some point, and it should have been long ago. This should give me a few bucks to put a couple more parts on the Evo though!! I plan on keeping the injectors for now, the AEM wideband/boost gauges, and one of the 3 Walbro's I have as long as its the right one.

Edit: looks like it isn't, 1g's use the GSS341, Evo's/2g's use the GSS342. Not sure what the difference is...

Difference is probably the install kit, and possibly the location of the outlet. If you are going to do a dual setup worm clamp style, you could probably still use them.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck. Tis the season for parting out 1G's though, good luck and lemme know if you need a hand ripping it apart at all.

^^ Will do, I'll be dealing with it and hauling it back from Primo after deer hunting more than likely, if there is interest in the car as a whole or parts, people can just get them right from Primo. Weekend after deer hunting, I'll be figuring out how to get it back, and then the part-out will start. :)

Just remembered I bought that small battery kit from you too, so I'll more than likely be keeping the small battery as well. :)

Looks like as of right now, I'll be keeping the following for the Evo:

FIC BluMax 1350's (might trade them in for something smaller too, as I plan on keeping the stock turbo for a while yet)
possibly a Walbro 255
AEM Wideband and Boost Gauges
Small battery (will need to buy tray)

Now I am REALLY leaning towards parting this car out.

Ohh man sorry to hear about the tranny. You should finish the car.
