Holiday pump gas vs. Amoco/BP Pump Gas?

I've talked to a few people on this subject and most of my friends believe that Holiday gasoline is best because of the 93 octane, i talked to rick shindley and he laughed when i told him i usually only feed my beast holiday premium gas, he said that holiday sucks and that amoco/BP gas is by far more better and efficient. what do y'all think?

Re: Holiday pump gas vs. Amoco/BP Pump Gas?

Amoco, all the time. Ever since I have owned my Talon there has always been Amoco 92 in it, except for one time when I was bone dry after a track day and all that was around was SA. Same thing for my Galant. Something just rubs me the wrong way about "Blue Planet". That and 1 octane point isn't going to do nearly anything.

I used to run the Amoco 92 all the time. Since they turned into BP, some people have complained though. I know atleast the BPs between here and Chicago in Wisconsin have some terrible gas.

Re: Holiday pump gas vs. Amoco/BP Pump Gas?

I think they are pretty close between the BP 92 and Holiday 93. I always try to run BP though, it seems to be more consistent. I tried to keep track of knock back when my car was running on both types of gas (the holiday was really close to me) and I couldn't tell any difference. I tried a couple of other types of gas and could notice a difference in those.

Re: Holiday pump gas vs. Amoco/BP Pump Gas?

Amoco is a little better than Holiday but Ive tried both and they seem to be pretty consistant with each other as far as knock is concerned. I ussually rock Holiday just because the price is ussually better, but thats because Amoco is right next to the one I usually get gas, so its whoever is cheaper since both make pretty close gas.

Re: Holiday pump gas vs. Amoco/BP Pump Gas?

Holiday gas has 50% less sulfur than BP gas does. Less sulfur causes clogged fuel injectors in the name of emissions. My good cars never get anything but BP if I have the choice.

Re: Holiday pump gas vs. Amoco/BP Pump Gas?

BP (amoco) or Mobil are the 2 that I try to use. I used to go under the same assumption about Holiday. I tracked fuel mileage and found that BP was better for fuel economy over Holiday. It was usually at least 2-3mpg better than Holiday. Sometimes even more.

Best advice, stick to the stations that are oil companies (Amoco, Mobil, etc.). You'll find their grade of gas is usually a little better than the convenience store gas out there.

Even though it's not part of this discussion, if you ever travel down towards Iowa where the Casey's stores pop up all over, I strongly urge you to stay away from their gas. I have heard more damn horror stories about Casey's gas f*cking with people's vehicles that there should ever be.

Re: Holiday pump gas vs. Amoco/BP Pump Gas?

my brother works at Holiday off 52 south, get some if you want, he'll recognize any DSMstyle member, just tell him "hey, awd-drifter told me to come here, im from DSMstyles.com!" hahahah...well, he tells me about every dsm that passes by, if you see a 96-97 Honda Accord EX parking out side, he's there. I dunno, i like holiday just because my bro works there.

No, but there is an Amoco off 66th St and Penn Ave S that sells 92 non-oxy for the same price as their 92 premium

I've heard lots of horror stories about their new V-Power stuff, it won't be going in my car. Reid's 'Quest ran like ass on it and so do most S2000's. 5x the cleaning agents isn't nesesarily a good thing (notice how they never make performance claims about it?).
