I have a few options open i could just keep my car and fix it and drive it, the thought of getting rid of it is a little sad, but I'd really like something with a bit more umph (sp?)

Re: Find me a car! $7k max?
I've never driven an Rx7 but I had a 240sx for a while. Reliable, fast, cheap, and decent gas mileage. I think I was getting mid to upper 20s for gas mileage.

If I had the money I'd pick up a 240. And they're stupid easy to work on. I can only imagine what a rotary would be like to work on.

Re: Find me a car! $7k max?
LOL at rotaries being hard to work on. Sure, if you pick up a stock one, you have a bunch of bullshit to get rid of (rat's nest, 5th/6th runners, etc) but there's a ton of space to work due to the tiny engine and everything's fairly accessible. And if the engine goes, you clearance and trim 6 seals and put all 3 moving parts back together.
Real hard guys.

Re: Find me a car! $7k max?
well guys, I'm gonna keep my junk and fix it.
Probably the best decision with least amount of headache, I think I will stick some DSM tan seats in her and just hurry up and get my DSM running so that I will have my speed fix.
I did want that CRX though.
Oh and rotarys FTL.

Re: Find me a car! $7k max?
If by keep you really mean keep it until it's absolutely dead, go for it.
But if you have any thoughts of selling/trading it at some point you're then selling a car with a salvage title. I would strongly recommend against this!

Re: Find me a car! $7k max?
It already has a salvage title. Salvage title dont mean shit in mn. You buy a car from a insurance company and the state will give it a salvage title. Even if was never wrecked. My work sells cars with salvage titles. We sell about 7 cars a week.

I bought it with a salvage title, I do mean keep it till its dead.
Buts its a sohc civic that gets 35mpg year round in this economy it would sell easy, hell there was 2 people that tried to offer more money that I paid for the car when I bought it!
Anywho, i'm gonna keep it since after getting the $$$ back it will be a dirt cheap car.
But thanks everyone, there is a lot out there for $7k holy crap. Stay tuned..

Aaron, that was the best decision if you ultimately want to buy an EVO some day. Save your cash.
