You might need to run 4 spare tires to keep all 4 broken loose on an AWD. DSMs run a 50/50 split with a stock or welded VC. People run welded VCs for dynoing or in hopes of saving the center diff from breaking. Running a welded VC, welded center diff or spool will be hard on your CV joints. They will probably start clicking after a few months.
