If it is just going to be a daily-driver, year really doesn't matter. If you want it to be a sub 13-sec drag car you will want the 4-bolt rearend which comes on the 92-94's (they are about $400 to buy if you want one on your 90-91). The big brakes are deffinately nice, they came on the 92.5+ AWD's. I personally don't listen to any of the 6/7-bolt nonsense for the 1G cars. One nice thing about the 6-bolts is that they came with larger rods...but then again the 93-94's came with more agressive cams. The 94's also had the best trannies.
