Re: Supreme Court declares bans on gay marriage unconstitutional.

with this law, does it force a church to perform a marriage? My understand is that the paperwork through the state is the only thing impacted. Though I guess more doors open for people to be sued if they don't want to participate in gay wedding due to it simply being a gay wedding.

You can refuse business to someone for being a dick, but as soon as the dick says he's gay you can't. Weird.

Anyway, back to shoutbox. Sorry for thread jack.

I don't believe this will allow any level of government to force a church to marry homosexuals. Even in Loving v. Virginia where interracial marriage became legal, I can't find anything saying churches were ever forced to marry interracial couples.

There is already a law suit filed over a church refusing to host a gay marriage.

I want to add. What is this going to do for military churches?

I was the first non military family to be married at the camden military academy. And I was only allowed because the pastor was a friend of mine who was in the military and worked there, and my mothers significant other is a 35yr veteran.

I just did a quick search, didnt read this article.

The one I was referring to was just a post on Facebook where someone mentioned it happened already.

Again I haven't done any homework on it. Just skimmed over posts while I was on lunch break and quit frankly would take way to long to find it again.

Edit link above is for the UK:
