So, update time
As we all know, I had issues with the old turbo before, and last I was on the rollers, I left with 483 awhp. Fast forward to today..
Found a new turbo ($100), rebuilt it MYSELF, and after a few other things, strapped it back on the dyno. 450 awhp, then made 533 (best numbers so far for this car, back on the old 6776) but we ended up going lean up top. After some diagnosing, we found the pumps didn't get the voltage they needed, so after a trip to NAPA, and grabbed some wires, fuses, we wired in a relay, and changed the power/grounds around. Pumps are now fixed. Also swapped the paper filter in my aeromotive fuel filter for a 100 micron metal one..flows WAY better!
Ended the day maxing the pumps, and the injectors. We also found that with this wg and turbo setup, you CAN NOT run less then 36 psi. We turned boost down to 29, but it creeped to 35. I also decided last minute to raise the rev limiter, so now it's at 9,500. Also, the turbo spools 500-600 rpm's FASTER!
Results:
^ boost holds fine with that lil 38mm!
^Shootout/MAP mode.
I guess you could say I finally had a smile on my face. With all the issues I've had lately, it's finally nice to see things go well. I limped it home, since the alternator bracket cracked, yet again, but when I was at the SO, I got the new revised style from Jay, so I'll be swapping that tomorrow.
Winter list..bigger FMIC (this one is too small-heatsoaking) bigger injectors..2150, 2200's, and perhaps a boost-a-pump. But, we will see..I might just leave the fuckin car alone and have at it. Work on other things.
I cannot thank enough all whom helped this process. Jesse/Mike at Primo, John (Pushit2.0), Shane at DB, Chad, and anyone else I forgot. You all are the reason This hobby stays enjoyable for me, when I've thought of quitting NUMEROUS times! It's nice to be able to pick the brains of, and rely on certain people in the community and get the needed help I have recieved!
That's it for now!
