Swifty's never-ending project thread!

ah..when is the last time my car HASN'T been to a damn dyno day? huh? That's right.

It's tuning that's usually holding me back. Fuckers.

So actually fully 100% tune the damn thing! You've been needing a tune for the last 3 years. We have multiple competent tuners in the area and I know none of them are booked solid right now.

Re: Name change!

hence why I got tomorrow off to make the upper ic pipe, clean up some wiring, check grounds, finish the timing belt and cam gears, start to put it all back together. WG is ordered and on the way, injectors are in, i just need to take out the old gas, get e85, and hcange the map around..anyone know when MN goes back to the "good" mix of e fuel?

e70 is not that bad. Just compare it to pump gas and it's awesome.
Aaron was running over 30psi on his 16g, I'm running about 26psi on my DD, it's still good gas.

Re: Name change!

true, but i dont have an ECU tat will automatically map shit for me..like stock ones, or link or safc's, all using a stock one. So, I wanna tune to get the most outta my setup

Re: Name change!

Oh yea, you'd have to get a tune for both... sucky.

Anyway, back on topic, thinking of tasks for Peter to perform at the dyno day!

Re: Name change!

You have an ECU that can automatically adjust for different A/Fs more than a stock one/DSMLink, it can have it do it at full throttle if you want. It just won't adjust quite as well for knock or learned knock(octane value).

Re: Name change!

see, i didn't know that. I guess that's why you tune em..and i drive em.

Re: Name change!

You need to have a wideband wired into the AEM. Most DSM and Honda guys seem to be too cheap to setup their AEM properly, while almost every Supra, SC300, Viper and Mustang guy seems to have all the right stuff.

Here is a good E85 mix chart. http://www.e85mustangs.com/regions123.html

Goddamn it swifty, you keep dragging other threads OT with banter about your car! Post info here about what is going on with it or I will ban you.

I'll get you started with info from another thread.

Re: Name change!

The most common method for dealing with mix changes has been pioneered by Jim Hayek the last few years. I believe he calls it the Let'R Buck tuning method.
