Mine goes goofy too once in a while, but all it ever needs is a restart of the car or logging software and it's fine. Sounds like you're on the right track with recalibrating it then if needed replacing the sensor (at least they aren't too expensive).

Hearing that it's not just mine that goes crazy makes me feel a bit better. There are two types of recalibration. Open air and heat? Have you done either of these and had more success with one than the other?
