Wideband Issues
Product in question: Innovate LC-1 Wideband
I went to go get gas last night, and it worked perfectly when I pulled up. Came out, started my car and now it just shows three dashes (---). This morning I drove it around the block and it just read 7.4 the whole time. Pulled back in the parking lot, shut the car off, and restarted it and all it showed was those 3 dashes again. I looked through the user manual and it says it should be recalibrated every 3 months or 10k miles. It seems like something I should try, but the fact that it's worked perfectly this whole time then just craps out on me seems odd. Any ideas? I'll be checking my connections later. Assuming they are all good, what do you guys think is going on? Bad sensor? AIDS? |

Bad sensor?

Re: Wideband Issues
That's what I'm starting to think. I went and drove it around the block again a few times and now it switches from saying o2 to 20.4 (all the way lean). The car still runs like it should, so fortunately it's something to do with the wideband itself. Later today I'm going to try to recalibrate it and see if that fixes things. If that doesn't work, I'll try a new sensor.

Re: Wideband Issues
Good steps. My sensors reading 2 points leaner then what shanes was so I'm thinking new sensor for me but will try reset first aswell

Re: Wideband Issues
Mine goes goofy too once in a while, but all it ever needs is a restart of the car or logging software and it's fine. Sounds like you're on the right track with recalibrating it then if needed replacing the sensor (at least they aren't too expensive).

Re: Wideband Issues
The easiest way to calibrate is to coast down a long hill with the car in gear, wait for the injectors to shut off, then hit the recalibrate button. If that isn't working for you then you can just do it free-air where you remove it from the exhaust and just let it hang in the open while recalibrating.

Re: Wideband Issues
Hmmm, since I'm going to tom's later and he has an o2 socket, I'll try just the open air first. Thanks for the help Kracka McKracka.
