What you should have done is offered to pay the fees. as it would have only costed like $2.50.

Re: HEY EVERYBODY, look at my new fuel pump!

Have you tried contacting paypal yet? If not, do it. You can't trust anything you read on the internet. What has been posted in this thread is amazing to me. It's kind of hypocritical to rally against things like taxes yet fully support myriad fees from sites like ebay and paypal. Doesn't make sense. Just trading a government for a corporation.

Do what you can, call paypal and talk to a person, and say they convinced you to use the gift feature, which you didn't understand quite why until you got the wrong part. They might be able to help you out. Good luck.

Thanks man for the advice I was looking for. I was planning on contacting them. Just wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this experience. Not just that I shouldnt of gifted the payment, because I obviously know this as of now.

Exactly. Fuck paypal.

Try to get your $$$ back through paypal and/or join up on the local DSM forum there to see if anyone can help you.

Re: HEY EVERYBODY, look at my new fuel pump!

Paypal is disliked by many merchants because they tend to side with the customer. If they find out someone is abusing the gift feature like that then they're likely to inflict some hurt.

Not even close. The government takes blindly whereas Paypal in this example attempts to take only for the service(s) used (like a toll road).

The government takes to pay for Roads, Bridges, military and pay for all of the programs you use on a daily basis. No one likes taxes, but if there werent taxes we would be a lot worse off than we are. Price for freedom. If you would like it more like a "reputable" company like ebay and paypal, than you are suggesting that the government charge per mile of highway/roadway you drive, Charge for each time a "terrorist" is killed, and charge for every time you want a loan. Which yes they do, but they do it on a level that requires a lot less employees.
Toll ways are usually owned by a company and not a government, such as the toll roads in Orange county are owned and operated by The Irvine Companies, the toll ways in Colorado are owned by another company.

Re: HEY EVERYBODY, look at my new fuel pump!

I understand how tollways work, I use them daily. Profitable companies are forced to be efficient, governments are not. Imagine how much cheaper postage would be if the government lifted the monopoly USPS holds; competition would force the USPS to become efficient or cease to exist. The way it sits now they just have to go ask congress for more money, and now dropping a delivery day.

Yeah but why does that matter? You don't need facts or experience to form an opinion at all. You said that yourself a few months back regarding the whole muslims in the military. haha
