That's a good price. Kinda makes me cry when I look at my FP invoice. :uh:

Time to sell it and get yourself a nice 56-trim for the 2.4l.

Don't tempt me. That purchase would probably put me in divorce court.

The SCM50 is now available with a smaller .48 A/R exhaust housing for quicker spoolup. The normal Mitsu exhaust housing on the these turbos is a .63 A/R. PTE is only offering it on the SCM50 as of now.

Shane, do you know how much bigger the outside of the T04S housing is compared to the T04E? I am just wondering if I can fit it in or not without a spacer plate. Do the stage 5 wheels on the GT56 cost extra?

The T350(Stage 5) wheel is the basic and smallest wheel offered on the 56-trim. It doesn't cost extra.

Is your car apart? I could bring in my PTE T04S compressor cover and compare it to yours if its off the car. Or you could just measure the diameter across the backplate.

My car is all apart. I don't have a lot of room, so if it is over 1/2" bigger I don't think it will fit. I will bring mine on Sat and compare the 2.

We bolted up a 60-1 hybrid w/ T04S cover to a 91 TSI and it fit just fine. I also had the turbo on my car for a few quick dyno pulls and it cleared mine as well w/o a spacer, although i did remove the water supply on the water pipe. PTE doesn't use it anyways so remove that and it should bolt up just fine.

Was this a PTE turbo or a different one? I am just thinking they may mount a little differently. I looked at Shanes T04S and it looks like it should fit.

Mounted a SBR 60-1 w/ T04S just fine and then a 60-1 T3/T4 w/ TO4S cover just fine as well.

Alright Shane, I am going to get a SCM61. I am going with the T04S housing and a 2.5" aluminum elbow welded on. So that should be $900, right? What exhaust wheel do you recommend for a 2.4 with 8.8:1 compresion? FRH manifold, HKS 272's, etc. I think you know most of my setup. I don't really know anything about the T4 turbine wheels that are available for it. I would like spool by 3.8k or so.

Yea, it would be $900 for one setup for an external gate and the T04S housing. The elbows don't come welded on though, we would have to figure that out. I am not sure if a larger 2.5" 90 degree elbow would cost much more than than the 2" one used on the T04E covers. Hopefully its only a few bucks.

I am not sure about the T4 wheels, there are a few of them available and some of them have the same dimensions as some of the T350 wheels. I would probably do the T350 2.795"/2.437" exhaust wheel if you want it to spool decent.
