Re: All Mitsu Cookout -- August 26, 2007 -- Rogers, MN
what if your car has no bumper and barely runs to make it, is there a class for that? I think there should be a trophy for best turbo turd, lol. what about the most ozone unfriendly?

There isn't a turbo turd class, but you can still bring your car if its a work in progress. We've had cars show up on trailers, that weren't planned that way. We've had cars missing bumpers and missing a good car wash. All Mitsus are welcome.

Yep that's the night I come home. 3 years running I haven't been able to make. Oh well. Plus my Mitsu is here in Virginia. There's always next year.

That was sweet! That was also back in the day when you actually had a Mitsu you could bring to this car show! Now all you got is your POS Ford!
Finally signed up, I'm such a lazy punk! I'll be there w/ my twin-turbo evo!

Re: All Mitsu Cookout -- August 26, 2007 -- Rogers, MN
Hey everyone,
Only eleven days away now! We are up to 145 cars on the list. The current list is at:
http://www.mn3s.org/cookout-list.html
If you are planning on coming to the All Mitsu Cookout, here are a few things to remember:
1) Sign-up online. The page is at:
http://mn3s.org/lists/?p=subscribe&id=5
2) If you have Paypal, send me your $5 registration to cgendron@mail.com (no credit cards please)
3) Fill out your car sign ahead of time. Its saves a lot of time in the registration line. Download the sign at:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign.doc
And my example sign can be found here:
http://www.mn3s.org/car-sign-curt.doc
Once again, here are the classes for the show this year:
Best 90-94 DSM
Best 95-99 DSM
Best 00-05 Eclipse/Stratus coupe
Best 91-93 3/S
Best 94-99 3/S
Best Evo
Best Classic Mitsu (89 and older)
Best Other Mitsu
The "Gene Helms" Cleanest Car Overall
And finally, we are going to have a little fun competition this year. We are going to have a slow drags race. Two lines will be drawn in the parking lot. (40 feet apart) The objective will be to go from one line to the next as slowly as possible without stopping or hitting your brakes. Those with really soft clutch pedals will have good cars for this race. We'll probably do the slow drags around 2:30pm. So practice driving like a granny.
later,
Curt

Re: All Mitsu Cookout -- August 26, 2007 -- Rogers, MN
I can't remember if I said I am coming or now, but I won't be in attendance this year since I'll be up north dominating at a pizza eating/beer drinking contest.

Its very tempting to come out there. If it was not for the 938 mile drive I would be there !

Looks good! Out of curiosity, did you have to get written permission from Mitsu before the trophy shop could use the logo?

Nope, the shop that made the decal for the trophy doesn't care. I don't think Mitsu would care, since no one is really making any kind of profit here. Besides, since I'm on a first name basis with the VP of Mitsubishi Motors of North America, I think I'll be safe.

Those trophies look pretty sweet. I wish I could have my roof and bumpers painted by the time of the show so I could stand a chance of winning one, but that probably won't happen.

Re: All Mitsu Cookout -- August 26, 2007 -- Rogers, MN
Just signed up twice, once for the talon and once for the galant. Does that mean I owe ya 10 bucks then?
Also, this will be my first one, so how does it work as far as food and everything. Does that entrance fee mean that myself and one friend get to eat all day, or whatever? Just curious.

Technically, you'd only need to pay $5, unless you are paying for more than the drivers of the two cars. I can give you some money back when you register at the show, if need be.
Thanks,
Curt

Basically I'll be driving the Talon there, and probably have one person with me. And then have another friend drive the Galant, and they may or may not have someone with them. So at least 3 of us. Anywho, again how does this all work. For the $5 I get to bring myself and one person in my car, and we eat all day? This is my first time to this so I don't know how it works, nor do I see an explanation for it anywhere.
