Re: Giant A380 passes trans-Atlantic test

I think most of the plane is made from jidm fiber, light weight and should not fatigue like aluminum does. I would like to fly on one also, either big and clucky or it will ride like an old Cadilac.

interesting though that no american airlines have purchased any of these aircraft.

anyway, i think the plane is an amazing achievement. im still amazed to this day that a million of pounds of metal can fly.

L.A just spent 9 million to make a GATE to accomidate this beast, and from all the Airlines around the states filing for Chapter 9 and others going under I dont think we'll see this U-Boat anytime soon. But I agree with Thor06, it hold 25,000 more gallons than a regular plane"Yeah thats good, cause we all seen what jet fuel can do!! Here lets add more." And its 30 feet or more bigger in Length "Because we dont have enough problems with shit falling from the sky! Heres something bigger." Just looking at this thing makes me weary, but I'm the type that thinks if im not operating than I have no control.

$9 million for a gate? when did california stop using illegal immigrant labor @ $2/hr? jk... but 9 mil is just ridiculous. id make the people jump off on the inflatable slide. they can walk their ass to the gate.

Last I checked (about a year ago) Southwest and Jet Blue were still doing very well.

Re: Giant A380 passes trans-Atlantic test

The Antinov AN-225 is still the world's largest airplane. Here's an interesting article I found:

http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/design/q0188.shtml

I believe there are a total of 2 built, and only 1 still are able to fly-the other is dissassembled, and used for parts. It was originally used to haul the russian's space shuttle around, similar to our modified 747 does. But, at the fall of the soviet union, the plane was scrapped. It was brought back up, and put together, and is used for hauling large cargo loads-more then it's smaller sister plane the 124.

Note: size of people at the bottom. That's a fuckin plane.
