Wow bigger then a Jumbo jet. Nice hope that helps with travel time.

The History Channel did a nice segment on the plane and the facilities that manufactures it awhile back. Suprisingly, pieces of the plane are made in separate countries and then shipped to be assembled. I can't imagine seeing the fuselage or wings being transported with oversized tractor trailers.

I dislike flying the way it is, but that fucker down right scares the shit out of me. I think you'd have to have it full of hot nekkid red heads and asians to tempt me.

Im with allan on not liking flying at all.. but id rather get on a new plane than an old one. Kinda scares me that planes from the 70s are still in the air, even though they are maintained etc.

I like flying, its interesting to look out the window at everthing. It is safer than driving. I was even in a plane once when the engine shut down (loud boom, lots of vibration) and we slammed down about 10 feet back onto the runway. Oh well, I got a 2nd hot turkey and cheese sandwhich so I was happy :)

Id be out of that plane and driving to wherever if that happened...

Yeah, I'd pull out my weiner so they would kick me off just to miss the flight.

Its a good start, I wonder how much per person it is to operate vs the smaller older 747s.

Looks like a better alternative to airport expansion.

I would definatly go on that jet.
Reason: The company i work for helped make that thing happen. They used our Laser Vibrometers to make sure there was no annoying vibrations and noises. (the worst thing i hate about flying)

I like newer planes also. I fly plenty, I'm not scared of it. I just get bored, and I don't like dealing with the airport crap. But I do anywho, no big deal. I usually just fall asleep with headphones on or something.

That thing is an amazing feat of engineering. I'd love to fly on a plane that big just to see what it's like.

I like flying enough, but I dont know about that big fuck. I wouldnt ride on one for probably a good few years to make sure all the bugs are worked out. Seems like a Titanic of the skies to me, I have a feeling something will go horribly wrong for it.

Actually the plane is so large that most airports in the world do not have facilities for it. Most major airports will have to expand to accommodate it.

alot of airports have already spent millions upgrading facilities to support these planes. longer runways, double decker jetways, etc

interesting though that no american airlines have purchased any of these aircraft.

anyway, i think the plane is an amazing achievement. im still amazed to this day that a million of pounds of metal can fly.
