Yeah the STi has a driver controled center differential. It has an automatic mode, where tons of sensors determine where the power should go. It's similar to the Active Yaw Control on the Evo. But the AYC isn't offered on the U.S. Evo. The Subaru DCCD also has a manual mode where you can control the front/rear torque split from 50/50 to 35/65 (rear bias).

Also, here's some food for thought. The Evo runs 19 psi with 8.8:1 compression, while the STi runs 14.5 psi with 8.2:1 compression. I don't know if anyone has tried it yet, but it looks like with the STi, you're just a boost controller away from insane power from a basically stock car.

The Subaru also has more power down low, and with the 2.5 liter motor, there's a lot less turbo lag.
