Looks awesome, but I'm with everyone else... Where is your exhaust pipe going?

Swifty, you may want to look into the new TiAL wastegates that are smaller.

Also are you going air filterless too? Or just a really skinny mo fo to fit in between your radiator hose and turbo?

Not, trying to knock his work but that wastegate placement for the exhaust couldn't be in a worse spot lol.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Thanks guys. Hopefully it will be more then just a collection of crap, but something that actually DOES something.

I thought of smaller wg, but why bother when this one works.

As for the exhaust, it actually has more room then the pic shows, but it will be a feat for john, that's for sure.

Air filter-less for now, yes. The upper rad hose still sorta comes in the way of it all, so when/if I get a filter setup, it will need to be notched. For now though, I got enough "screen" and a clamp to run my own "custom" air filter, with enough extra to be able to change my "screen" out at every oil change/tire rotate/maint. point

I'm gonna be cutting my front motor mount and reinforcing it to make more room for my oil return!

There really is less room for you I bet!

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Why risk engine damage by not running a filter? You've put an awful lot of time and money into this setup to be basically sandblasting your combustion chamber and turbo with every revolution. The screen will keep bugs, rocks, and birds (yes I have a friend who sucked a baby bird into his filterless turbo hatch), but it won't keep out the smaller particles that can really do damage over time.

I say extend the upper rad hose a bit so it has a bump up to it, and put a nice big foam filter from Uni and keep it safe: http://www.unifilter.com/onlinecatalog.html

The guy I sold my 35r to off of my 2g ran it filterless w/ a maf-t setup (he put some nice mesh stuff over it). I saw the setup about 3000 miles later and the compressor wheel was absolutely fuct.

You should get one of those flexible rad hoses like mark runs

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Gotta make the lower ic pipe, exhaust dump, wg, and then fluids. I hope not much longer, but we will see.

You guys must remember, the turbo is on TOP, not down lower, where it's more prone to debris. Yea, A filter/intake would be a nice option, but as of right now, I dunno how that's going to be possible.

Want to see how prone any part of an engine bay is to debris? Just look under my hood sometime. Don't be dumb, protect your investment.

Hopefully you're revving to 10k+. The 61 kinda wanted to spool, the 67 sorta did by 6.5k,

...how's a 70 suppose to?
