Blow off valve

I was wondering what you guys are using and your reviews! I did use searched already. I didn't get what I wanted. I'm in the market of buying one, and most people I talk to says to just buy any because they all work the same?! Reliability? etc... Thanks in advance!

Re: Blow off valve

They do not all work the same. Your planned usage can help determine which you need. A crushed 1G BOV can hold 22 psi so thats the most economical choice if you don't crank the boost up with race gas. My personal favorite aftermarket BOV is the HKS SSQV or whatever its called.

Re: Blow off valve

I started with the crushed 1g then my buddy gave me his HKS ssqbov and I liked em both. The only difference was the sound really. Then again I'm shootin about 15 psi soon to be 20.

I have a Blitz DD . It's worked well for me so far, but I only have it on from time to time when I'm bored.

Re: Blow off valve

The only 2 bov's I'd ever run is an HKS SSQV or the tial 50mm. I have yet to hear a bad review on either of these two. type s's are ok, and work just fine, but I have heard seal issues with them from time to time-small tears. I personally run the tial, because it holds boost, at any psi. Works like a charm each time, every time. Plus, it sounds cool as hell, but not obnoxiously loud either.

Re: Blow off valve

I had a Greddy Type RS (40mm valve) vented. It worked very well, and looked nice (first thing people complimented if they saw my engine... ricers!) It sounded like a vented 1G BOV, not very high pitched like an HKS SSQV/Greddy Type S

Re: Blow off valve

If you have a small turbo (less than 20G) then the Tial sounds crappy and flutters alot.

Re: Blow off valve

Anyone here had any personal experience with the turboxs rfl type h bov? I'm planning on getting one to replace my 1g bov that's on my 2g buschur uicp. I like the 1g bov and all but I guess it's just my thing where I want the bov to be heard loud. I know, sounds funny and ricer right?

Slowboy has that BOV. It sounds really nice inside the car last time I heard it.

Re: Blow off valve

I don't know if they still are, but the Turbo XS BOVs were mounted by set screws and often suffered from boost leaks with their poor mounting setup.
