is it better to keep the turbo spooled or vent it into the air with the blowthru stuff?
performance wise.

uuuuh, get a stock 1G BOV, keep it that way, and you'll be fine.

BTW, dumping it back into the intake does not really help keep it spooled.

Im venting to the atmosphere, and I dont want to anymore. It's dumb. You'll want to recirculate it back to the intake. It's only fun for so long having a loud ass BOV, but once it starts making the performance a little crappy, then it gets stupid.

No, he doesn't. That's why he's losing performance. You won't need a GM MAF+T untill you are making some decent power. Once you do that, you can have it configured so that you can vent.

yeah thats what im asking, when you have decent power. should you put the GM MAF on the intake or should you use the blowthru piping and dump it in the air?

Im going to say this simpy. If you dont have a MAFT do not vent. If you plan on getting a MAFT just so you can vent...you are not ready for a MAFT.

Edit: The GM MAFT is a BLOW-THRU setup, they are one in the same. The MAFT is the sensor/translator. The Blow-Thru is the kind of piping it uses.

no, the blowthru is one of the options you could do. this is clearly on the intake and it is dumping back into the intake with the GM MAF.

A Ramchargers MAF-Translator can be used as either a pull-through or a blow-through setup. Which you choose to use should be based off a few different things. If you must blow-off to get the 15 year-old hunnies, then you will want to go blow-through. If you want a car that is easier to tune and idles better, go pull-through. Most cars should go pull-through; the ones making a large amount of power can better utilize blow-through. I personally am going blow-through this spring so that I am able to run a cold-air-intake with the air filter down inside the front bumper. I think everyone has their fair-share of research to do before stating any more "facts".

Guys, do some fucking research before you start posting up what you think is the truth. Hughes set you all straight here, but it's as if all of you newbies are getting Big Penis Syndrome hoping that you'll prove to everyone that you know the most... It doesn't work that way around here. Start reading up on shit, then start talking once you know something. Stupidity and ignorance will not get you far at all around here.

I would like to apologize. I had never seen the MAF in the intake before, only in the UICP. My apologies. I had never actually researched but read alot "in passing". Again im stupid.
