4g!
So the head unit is in Minnesota... still kinda waiting for it to be shipped, they need a signature and I don't get home till 5 so I left a note on the door saying so, and also saying they can deliver to a neighbor, so hopefully that flies, otherwise I don't know what to do to let them drop it off.
So anyway... I need to install that.
I'm going to do the Brembo EVO brakes thing soon I think, and hopefully I can arrange for the usual crew to help me out, since i've never bled brakes before and i'd rather do it right with you guys then do it by myself and screw up.
I'm going to buy a Cusco front strut tower bar.
Progress rear sway bar.
Thinking about doing some suspension bushings, but I want to see how firm I am with the above installed.
Also thinking about doing an engine torque dampener.
That is whats on my plate for now! I'm hoping to actually have that list done possibly by Feb, but we'll see how it works out.
Spring will be new tires, since i'm on Eagle RSAs.

Re: 4g!
Sportronic I guess is what they called it in the 4G. And yeah that is what I have, 5 speed.
I suppose an up to date mod list would be beneficial since i'm not sure if i've ever posted one on this site.
Black Halo Projector headlights
Black LED Tail lights
Projector style eyelids
30% tint
removed front license plate
Tearstone Performance polished aluminum billet fluid caps
Pioneer AVIC-Z2 nav. system (sitting in my room right now, technically)
Street Glow Blue 9" thin strip LED footwell lighting
Blue LED map/dome lights and License plate white LED
Injen short ram intake (will be converting to cold air in spring when it's warm)
RRE shorty headers
Magnaflow cat-back (Mark is probably going to help me make a Y-pipe and delete the main cat that I still have in place still, but i'm waiting on some dyno results still)
18" Anthracite Enkei GF1 rims (apparently they weigh 17-18.5lbs, i'd like to weigh them myself to verify)
Megan Racing coilovers w/ adjustable dampening and ride height.
I think that's every little and big mod i've done so far. Not much but she aint stock anymore!
Stock factory options are:
rockford fosgate system w/ 10" sub & steering wheel mounted controls
leather heated seats
traction control
aluminum sport pedals
auto dim rear view mirror
Couple other now industry standard options like the ones above, it's got the sun and sound and also the sports accessory package if you know what that means from the mitsu site or care to look it up.
Also... as for the list I mention in the original post, I think once I do those suspension mods i'm pretty much complete for what I want for suspension, and that would leave me open to doing any kind of major engine things and the car should be able to support what I do hopefully putting the power to the ground better.

I dunno if I've told you yet, but those LED tails you have are badass! Not a bad mod list either.

Actually I haven't heard much feedback at all about the head lights or tails, other than that people like the eyelids. I was kind of weary about getting the tail lights because they were a little over priced and not all that different from stock, but they are the black housing which was kind of essential, if I changed the headlights to a black housing and left the tails the stock chrome housing it'd look really stupid.
Thanks for the feedback though. Now that i've had time to let it sink in I like them a lot also, and they were plug and play unlike the headlights so it was an easy install.
EDIT: Also, I kind of forgot because i've been subconsciously putting it off I think, but there is apparently ~20whp to gain from leaning out my A/F ratio, once you get to like 3500-4000RPM it basically flatlines at 10:1, some people have claimed gains of up to 35whp with the headers, but i've seen other people claim 15. Also there is a project in the works of being able to toggle MIVEC into a race mode and have it kick in at a lower RPM. It's proved to be effective and functional, but the guy working on it has been busy over the holidays and has been on hiatus with his 4G tuning.
So I also plan on getting some kind of tune, the guy I mentioned is using the AEM fuel ignition controller and a few other knowledgeable people also recommend it as the better option for the best expandability with tuning for our ECU, which is apparently a pain in the ass.

Re: 4g!
Its too bad that the Eclipse doesn't use OpenECU like the Evo does. Your car is a sharp looking 4G, everything you've done so far is tasteful and well planned.
I thinking you may be best off w/o the complete suspension bushing kit. They are a real pain to install and definitely make the ride more jarring. After the strut braces and swaybars I think you'll be very happy with the handling. Is there a reason why you have already picked the brands of the strut brace and swaybar? I'm not second guessing you, just curious as to what you found in researching.
Getting rid of the remaining cat will definitely be a good thing and the CAI come spring should be nice since your air filter is sitting directly behind the radiator right now (bad thing for all cars, especially NA).
If your wheels are really that light thats great! My 18's weigh in at 24 lbs each. That will help offset the weight you'll be adding with the Evo brakes. I'm always down for some install work so just let us know!

I think I agree with your advice on the bushings... mostly because I don't plan to autocross, at least I don't plan on it as of right now, so I want nice suspension, but I don't want the jarring like you mentioned. I think the strut bar and sway bar will mostly just be tightening my cornering and not changing my cruising drive quality at all, but I could be wrong. My ride is already really stiff being that i'm lowered really low, I don't want to sacrifice TOO much more because of the 1 hour each way commute. And also yeah I read a bit into the install and it sounds like a major pain, especially for something I might complain about afterwards...
As far as how I came across the specific products, the 4G market is small, and I believe the only available sway bar right now is by Progress, the only specifics I know on it is it's 24mm and adjustable.
As for the strut bar, there is a Cusco version and a Tanabe offering as well, and i'll need to do more research on this possibly, but I believe the Cusco is a thicker bar, and RRE chose it over the Tanabe in their Ralliart build, so i'm basically going with it for that reason. I still need to do some more light reading before I purchase that specific one.
Eibach (sp?) I believe is releasing a kit sometime in feb, with a 25mm rear sway, so it might benefit me to wait and see what that has to offer, so I might wait for that, but thats also probably subject to being pushed back, which is a common trend so far for this platform.

Re: 4g!
Oh.. haha, I suppose that would help also, sorry i'm a puts.
Doesn't do the tail lights justice, I promise.
Those are the more recent ones.. they aren't very good, I know. I need to get some better quality ones and I probably will be soon, i'm up for 'Car of the Month' on a 4G site soon so I need some good shots to go on the main page.
Lots more pics on my Flickr if you want to check that out.

Re: 4g!
Very nice, dude. You should take some no-flash pictures at night with just the parking lights on to show off the halos and the tail lights.

Re: 4g!
Good idea, I shall do that! I think once I get my head unit in i'll take my car downtown stillwater and park it somewhere and take some better pics. Someone also mentioned the top of a parking ramp being a cool location for night shots, I might do that too after work one day at like twilight.

Re: 4g!
Let's see what happens when I hook up the latest version of EcuFlash to your car, there is a listing for 2006 Evo/EclipseAT or something like that....maybe you can do some tuning
General comments, skip the bushings, your car is still new enough that the whole bushing kit will not really help, only make the car seem overly creeky/stiff, unless there's some specific ones that 'everyone' does on that car that make a big difference. Stick with swaybars and crossmember supports, you will have a really nice handling car after those when combined with your coilovers!
Spring 2008 we'll have a photoshoot downtown, maybe make a calendar out of it?

Re: 4g!
That would give me enough time to get anything else done that might change the appearance of my car.
As far as the ecuflash thing goes, i'm willing to try. It's gonna be pretty spendy to do the AEM thing.
