I thought you didnt want to go the cometic route just for safety reasons? Good luck with it I hope it was just the gasket.
Yeah, I couldn't find a stocker around and I figure that it is tuned good enough now to go with a Cometic. The AEM has a new feature in it. Basically it is a rev limiter, but it activates off the boost level. This should help things safety wise too.
The old HG was barely blown, and it was near the loosest studs. I am pretty sure not retorquing the studs is what did it.

Yeah I busted ass to get that head off his car when it was hot as fuck out because I want to go to Cedar this coming weekend. I couldn't even tell the HG was blown until it was flipped over and you could see where it had bursted through.
I agree with him going Cometic since the car was running great and has a pretty good baseline tune. Now if it will just stop creeping it will be fine. Hopefully this rain will stop soon so I can go out there and put it back together.
JET is going to be gone all week so I am trying to pick up the slack and help him out, and plus I don't have a DSM anymore so I don't mind working on them now. Its weird how that is. Now I just have to find time to get it on the dyno for some race gas tuning and he will be all set. There is still a lot of power to be made in my opinion, the 455hp was with the boost creeping to 25psi and no real tweeking.

yep if you need help let me know. I suck at assembly tho. LOL!!
Yeah it is going to be fucking weird have to hear from someone else what MY car made on the dyno! I really don't have any other option if I want to make it to Cedar Falls this weekend though.

Think of the suspense, it will be like waiting the the STD results after you slept with some tramp from The Bird. Either the news will be really good or really bad.

Put 10 gal of 111 (Steve Hill pump gas :D ) in so we could ignore the boost creep and get some more RPM out of it. The AEM was set to shut off if the boost hit 25 psi, this happened at 6300 RPM and it made 455 whp.
What did the fuel/air look like, and what turbo is that?
It is a SCM61 with a T04S cover on it. The AFR's were pretty rich, around 10.8 I think. As long as the boost creep is fixed, it should be well into the 500's on 111 and 30 psi.

Well I just got back from the dyno. Car made some nice numbers considering it was still creeping quit a bit even after porting the wastegate. Its going to need some more porting to stop it. The car ended up running out of fuel when the boost was turned up so we had to stop. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and the base was at 45psi or so and under boost it went to around 70psi and held for a little bit but then fell to around 45psi or so. So we are suspecting a bad fuel filter or a the walblow pump is failing. Car has 950CC injectors and a 255HP so there should be plenty of fuel. Injector duty cycle was around 118%.
So anyway the best run of the day the car made 498.1whp and 402.2wtrq, the boost was set to around 23lbs, it crept to 25lbs and stayed there for most of the run. At the very end it saw 26lbs. The timing was also very conservitive because we were battling some knock all day. Not sure if its just a lot of noise but it seemed to go away when timing was lowered. But not bad numbers considering the low boost and timing. The car has a lot more in it once the fuel issues are sorted out.
The car was in the 450whp range all day running just off the wastegate (16lb spring), boost was creeping to around 21lbs by the end of fourth.
This was on 111 from the Mobile station on hwy 65, so who knows maybe the knock was coming from shitty gas too, who knows. Time for some C16 and some more boost.
But hey it didn't blow up.
