After 14k miles/1.5 years, the Redline D4 tranny fluid I put in to replace the factory fluid is showing signs of being worn out. The Shreveport cruise a few weeks ago is likely what did it in. Now I remember why I replaced it annually in my DSMs/Evos :) It feels amazing when fresh, but it does age much quicker than factory-fill fluids. I just got a jug ordered from Walmart.com so I'll get that done later this month.

The clutch system is acting like that fluid is ready for another flush as well. That's a good task for the dealership though so I'll have that done when I have the car in next (likely Feb or March for an airbag recall and annual state emissions inspection). The slave cylinder is inside the bell housing so accessing the bleeder is a total PITA, and the dealer charges a pretty reasonable price for it considering the time involved.

Seems like this should be a $350 well spent. I'm going to compile all the data I find in one place for future reference:

The above performance suspension calibration is a success! I got the car back from the dealer yesterday afternoon after it's annual trip in for service, recalls, warranty work, etc. and had them perform the updated suspension calibration while they were at it. I can't speak to the performance enhancements yet, but all I can say is WOW when it comes to the comfort aspect! The car is now handling sharp impacts and rough roads better than it ever has! I intentionally drove the car on a certain lane on a concrete road near my house that is frankly horrible from all the construction trucks driving on it that I will typically avoid if at all possible. The improvement was night & day; the car stayed planted, felt smooth, and wasn't jumping all over the road anymore. Embarrassed to say it, but I'm actually looking forward to taking the car into a parking lot with speed bumps later on today just to see how it absorbs those. I'm also anxious to get the car out sometime soon to enjoy some nice back road twisties!

In summary, a $350 well-spent! I hope Chevy Performance starts offering more upgrades in the future. They did make a fair amount of Z06 components available for the lower models, such as the grille and radiator fan, which I have both. They also have a new intake system coming out that consists of a new airbox and larger filter (but retains the factory intake tube).

Yeah you do!

This update is currently available for 2014-2017 models, 2018's got some of the tweaks from the factory, and 2019's got it all.

Finally decided to chase down one tiny intermittent rattle that's been annoying me since the car was brand new. I took a lot of these panels out and used adhesive felt on quite a few contact points! These sheets of adhesive felt were a life saver in the Evo X interior

Sidenote: Bose speakers are absolute junk and no better than the cheap paper ones found in base model econoboxes.

Rattles are annoying, hopefully you can find it! That paper woofer stuck out to me right away haha. Bose means nothing these days...
