The nice thing is when you need a new engine for the EVO, it will easily fit in the trunk of the Taurus. :) The newest gen Taurus is so huge. Its pretty much a SUV disguised as a car. I swear the height of the trunk on a Taurus is higher than the roofline of my 3/Ses.
But congrats on the free car and the upcoming move. Glad to see the EVO is staying put.

Bumpidor!!!
So with some car shuffling I'll be in the market again. This time I might actually spend some money after finding out my rates.
Goal is to buy a car that is fun to drive and needs no work, no projects. Doesn't have to be driven in the winter as we still have our trusty 2005 civic with 194k miles.
Right now I'm shopping in the $15-20k range and I'm looking at:
E46 M3 and E92 or in english 2007-20xx 335i coupes.
Is there anything else I should be looking at?
What is everyone's opinion?
I'd like to drive this when the roads are clean and take it on DCTC for some of these friday night fun runs and this new MN time attack thing, maybe even BIR HPDE.
I'm not looking to master or win anything, but I'd like to have something suitable, hence why I'm not looking at a 5 series.

If you go with a 335, I've heard the single turbos (2011+) are the way to go. the twin turbo versions go out fairly quickly...

I believe those are out of my price range, on my long drive up to camp ripley some reason an EVO 9 popped in my head, but those aren't comfy. I sat in a 2013 or 14 sti it was ok.
I'll probably end up with a 07-09 335i going off the prices they are at.
I hate to speculate until I drive something, but I've driven matt D's car and he is talking me into a 335i instead because I won't be racing as much although I think his car is really comfy.

Scheides' Evo IX SE. I did plenty of cross-country roadtrips in mine.

I may have to drive it and see, a 4 door would be a lot more practical and it seems to fit the bill.
