Question: How could he make it right without it including a refund?
He's made a conscious decision to NOT do what you paid him for and NOT given you the parts you intended to purchase from him. You've sent the trans to TRE so he can't rebuild it.
So what is it that you are looking for?

An apology, apparently.
I can't say I've ever regretted any of the labor that I've paid for on my car. I've regretted overpaying for some of the parts. The moral is that you need to be mindful of where you try to save a buck.

Mark said he would give me the $350 back for the trans if i can get all the parts back from him.
When the parts come back from TRE i'll let you know if he comes through on his word.

Did Mark at least admit he had no clue what he was doing or just didnt give 2 shits while assembling that trans?

He did not. the only response i have gotten so far about his work is on how dirty the inside of the transmission was and he said, "The hot tank only gets so much"

Wow.
Sorry this happened to you, Cam.
I'm really shocked Mark hasn't posted up in this thread. Unbelievable.

What a load of crap. He'll refund the shitty parts as long as he gets them back but won't refund his shitty work.
Says a lot about him.

I'm sure he won't ever reply to this thread because he doesn't have the cojones. He knows this is a lost battle. After all, would you come on a thread where multiple people spoke up about your crappy work, crappy parts, and general disregard for transaction satisfaction which is now 5 pages long?

Calm down dude. first of all, because he wont reply to a good guy/bad guy thread doesnt say anything about him as he is still answering his phone and working it out with the original poster. Secondly, IF he posts im sure it will be after everything is resolved. A lot of us have had good dealings with mark, but everyone makes mistakes. Sucks that this happened, but sometimes if you want a "built transmission" you need to send it out to one of the known transmission builders.
When you start calling people out as scam artists or such things get out of hand really fast. a lot of times things go spiraling out of control and reputations get damaged fast. No matter what they have done in the past they are forever damaged after a big mess up. Take for instance Jake. A lot of us (including myself) immediatly jumped on him as the cause because of his past, yet this time he wasnt at fault.
If I were you Cam, i would work with mark offline and after all is said and done, come back on here and tell us how it went. But dont give us updates until then as it does no good. Sorting these things out takes a bit of time, but its all about the end game. Mark is a friend of a LOT of people here, has been around the scene for longer than anyone that has posted in this thread, as long as he is still communicating with you then you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

In the end, you get what you pay for. Diamonds in the rough are out there, but is your time and money worth taking a risk?
I don't blame Mark for staying out of this online, all he'll get is an earful of shit no matter if he resolves this or not. You either like the guy or you don't, but giving an opinion one way or another when you aren't involved doesn't help one bit.
