That is a seriously clean engine bay! Does the use of a manifold spacer require a different downpipe?

If you look closely in the one pic, it looks like it will actually be quite close! If it bolted right up, that would be badass.

I've had a spacer plate like that for about 10k miles without any issues, just have to run an extra gasket thats all.

Was that with the hahn ecoli/slowwhite/hort/scheides turbo? I know it had the spacer/adapter on the top of the turbine housing...yea, it did have a spacer between the manifold and the head didn't it?! Otherwise the turbine housing would hit the block, suck.

Looks good man, but why a 60-1? That's some old-skool tech man. I'm sure on E85 it'll make badass power though, should be plenty of fun and might I say....done by spring dyno day? Looks like you're close :D

looking good andy. Just to let you know that mani is not a dnp and that is why you need the spacer to clear it just hope it was really cheap for you to pick up

^ I have used my dnp for over 7 years and it has never cracked on me and has been on 3 of my cars and will be on the hatch soon

^ I have a DNP sitting here at the shop that has probably been rewelded 10 different times. It was even cracking in the middle of pipe sections, not at a weld. Fixing it got old, so we switched to an SLS.

My DNP t4 is just fine, but I'm selling all that off to fund another venture. I'm talking about the OP's manifold..looks more to me like the knock off ones. Even so, I hear those DNP's cracked alot cuz DNP used a different material to make them out of to keep costs down. I mean, who's going to spend 500+ on a stock replacement manifold, and sell them in great enough numbers to keep producing?

Lookin good! Hope to see it out at the track this year!

I rock an SLS mani too. Love the mani, hate the shop tho, ha.

Thanks! Well my downpipe reduces down to 2 1/2 and has a 2-bolt flange and my o2 housing is 3" with a 3-bolt flange. I already talked to mark and got a 3 bolt 3" flange from him. It still lines up pretty close so it shouldn't be that bad.

That's a big turbo! I as well, have been bitten by the big turbo bug. What are you going to be running for injectors now?

I have some FIC 1600's on the way.

Nice looking set-up there man! What kind of power are you looking to make? Any other mods besides those 272's?

I'm looking for 500whp maybe a little more. Internal wise I have BC 272's, MLS 4-layer headgasket and ARP headstuds. Everything else is stock/original with 71k miles.

Why not cut the flange off and add runners to it. Instead of double flange. Somehow it looks like it's gonna have a sealing issue. But I guess if it works it works.
Nice project.

That would be way more work than its worth. The manifold spacer was only 30 shipped. I already got 2 new gaskets and longer studs to bolt it up.

I actually only have a couple more things to get done. Just been busy and haven't had time to make this thread yet. I could have it running in less than a week, but I'm working on the little details. Spring dyno day is looking promising!

I went with a 60-1 cause it will spool around 4000-4300 which should help with some traction and I got a really good deal on the setup.

I figured it wasnt since it didn't have the DNP stamp on it and the collector didn't look very clean. I talked to the guy I bought it from about it and he sent me back some of my money. I have been thinking of either just running it for this year and selling it. Or just sell it right away and buy a FP manifold.

Next I got a COP setup from Stephan (greasemonkey) He ended up selling it to me for $39 bucks!

Here it is the night I picked it up.

Then I cleaned it up and prepped it for some wrinkle black paint and this is what I came up with.

While I took out my old spark plug wires and coil pack. I decided to take advantage of it and clean up the wiring some more.

I also prepped and painted the fuel rail semi-gloss black

Now I'm waiting for my 1600's to get here and the fuel rail will go back in.
