Good article on the subject at hand (even if it's on Fords):

"What defines a street car? Everyone seems to have their own opinion--to some it's a Pro Mod car with mufflers; to others, it's gotta-have A/C and can sit in traffic without incident. For us, the MM&FF True Street Challenge differentiates the real road warriors from the race car wannabees. This class requires you to cruise your registered and insured Ford on the street and then make three consecutive strip passes--no cooldown, no opening your hood to make repairs, no refueling."

I don't see why Swanny's car isn't a street car. It could use exhaust silencer, but it's pretty streetable. Okay, the shotgun seat is the suck too...but that's it.

I would say, a street car should be able to drive to the track on its own 4 wheels and be ready to race. That should be the definition of a street car.
You cant say the car has to be street legal because then you would have to take into effect all of the laws governing cars in the whole whats legal, whats not. I.E tint, tires, exhaust noise, emissions (lucky ass minnesotans), as well as anything else that may be considered illegal by da po pos .

Chris's car has crossed over the line for street car. I can't see many people climbing into that thing. Swanny's car on the other hand, has a interior, and 2 seats, for a passenger. Some cars don't come from the factory with PS or a/c. Does that make them a non-street car? I took my ps/ac bumper supports, carpet, rear bench, and some other stuff out. But, i still tote around passengers, and other broke-ass dsm'ers. That doesn't mean my car is not a street car. I just have less commodities then the next guy.
