It was a Vicious weekend.
Well I went to the Import Face-off in Shreveport this weekend.
I took the trophy for BEST MITSUBISHI
and
I won the STREET QUICK 8 race
Here are some pics a friend of mine and I took while we were there. Yeah, his NSX is a fine one. It's mostly show, no performance mods, although he is looking into getting a supercharger to mount on top of the engine. That would look sweet sticking up into the rear window.

Re: It was a Vicious weekend.
As far as the running goes, the track had no traction. It rained heavily the night before and morning of the IFO. My best 60 ft was a 1.95. I did get a new best mph, 123.83. They also had a new digital scale, so I checked it out. My car, 1/2 tank of fuel, myself and a couple of just eaten cheese burgers weighed in at a whopping 3510 lbs.
3510 lbs @ 123.83 mph, do the math.
I think if the track would have been working better I might have gotten a new best e.t. My qickest pass of the day was 11.74 sec. on a 1.96 60 ft. Take that down to my best 60 ft of 1.68 and my higher mph, who knows.

Have him turbo it instead of supercharging it.

He's not all into the high HP thing, just wants it to look great. And seeing a supercharger sticking up in the rear window would look great.

I walked right into that one.
I only make up 170 lbs of the weight.

I've definately looked into it, but it would not be easy. Remember this is a street/strip/showcar. As much as I would like to knock 1000 lbs off the car, I just can't bring myself to cutting it up. Just too nice of a car. It's a full weight '99 GSX. Power everything, a/c, abs, cruise, sunroof, add-on stereo equipment, etc, etc, etc,........
Here's what I have considered;.....
Carbon fiber hood (save at the most 30 lbs for $400)
Remove the carpet padding (save maybe 30 lbs)
Aftermarket racing seats (save maybe 80 lbs for $1000)
I might do the C/F hood anyway because I really like the way it looks on the NSX and other white Eclipses I've seen.
I am open to any reasonable suggestions.

Re: It was a Vicious weekend.
Definitely do not start cutting up the car. A carbon fiber hood would look sweet. For saving 30 pounds, I don't think removing the carpet padding would be worth it.
Congrats on the times!

Re: It was a Vicious weekend.
Those are some nice pics. Your buddy has a nice NSX....best looking one I've seen yet. That's not owned by a racing shop or some extrememly rich person. A C/F hood would look awesome on your car. Then take some more pics with the NSX and the picture would look better than those up there. Congrats on the wins.

Re: It was a Vicious weekend.
I still think you need to show some of the 'lil boyz over at Toonerz what some clean power truly looks like.

Let me get my new turbo and stuff on the car. And I'll see what I can do.

Re: It was a Vicious weekend.
Man, you need to get that thing down to 3400lbs like mine. At least in a crash versus a 2800lb 1G AWD we might win. Now you 1G guys know why all us 2Gs are so damn slow. We don't even have heavy electric seatbelts or heavy metal bumpers to remove to get the weight down easy.
