Just thought I'd tell everyone I'm home from surgery and everything went ok. I had surgery on Thursday morning. They made me stay the night and got home Friday afternoon. I had to get surgery on my ear because my eardrum was curved inwards and had what they call a Cholesteatoma. The eardrum was rubbin on one of the bones back there causing it to erode and I was having a lot of hearing loss in my right ear. So they went in, rebuilt my eardrum, put a new prosthetic piece on that bone so its back to normal. Now I have a bottle of Percoset and 2 weeks off work!! I will have one small scar behind my ear, but it's barely noticable. Hopefully I'll recover fine and have better hearing again! Just thought I'd share!!
Wow, glad the surgery went well for you. It would have been terrible to have hearing loss at your age, even if it was only one of your ear's. Hopefully you can enjoy some of the time off
Ya I've had ear problems my entire life. I'm gunna call the doctor tomorrow cuz I'm still worried about it healing, but I'm sure it'll be fine. But I'm hearing from quite a few people now that due to this, I might get disability pay for the rest of my life from the government because of this. Even though it's not really their fault, as long as it happend while I was in, and it wasn't noted a problem before I joined, I might get 30% disabbility just like that. Kinda cool I suppose. But thanx, I'm still doing fine, just this stupid whooshing sound in my ear is getting to be real annoying.
