Take responsibility for your actions is my first advice. My second bit of advice would be to call customer service and ask if you can upgrade your plan to one that accomodates your minute usage and ask if it would be possible to have the difference in price for the new plan back-charged for last month in-turn getting you out of the overage charges.

"Can you hear me now? Good."

Yeah, Verizon are ass' about that. I got hosed really bad one month. Like a damn $270 bill or some shit. They won't back date any accounts or anything. I damn near told them my cell phone was stolen. I just sucked it up and paid it though. It teaches you a lesson though....women suck! Errr, something like that.

Get a differant plan. I have been with verizon since I got a cell phone. They rule, but you do need to watch your minutes and ifyou need to change you plan do it. From the sounds of it you need to up your plan and if it's not your cycle date then you will be prorated for some charges but I would do it anyway and save some $$$.

Plans are so fucking cheap now you have no reason to go over minutes... Especially with unlimited nights and weekend!!

Call customer service and be really really nice. Then say how rediculous it is and blah blah Then ask about other plans. It's easy to get out of those situations; I know because I've worked on the customer service end of similar companies and honestly 80% of the customer service employees of the bigger companies don't really care if they credit you back a little bit of money because it's not technically their money they're losing. I say try it and if you catch someone on a good day, they'll hook you up, otherwise if they're PMS'ing, good luck.

We had a bill that was over $400 one month due to overages. AJ called them up, changed our planned, and they cut our bill in half. It's easy.

They don't do that anymore. I tried a couple months ago. I have 1100 peak minutes and unlimited everthing else. I went over by a couple hundred minutes and tried to upgrage my plan like I did in the past but the lady said they don't do it anymore.

They might give you a hundred or so promotional minutes to help you out but they are not going to erase the whole thing. Verizon is good company, I have been with them for six years now. But with any cell phone you have to watch your minutes otherwise you get screwed over. I am sure they get a hundred calls a day with people trying to get out of paying overage charges. They will try to make you happy to an extent.

Switch to sprints new fair and flexible plan, that way overages are a flat rate of $5 for every 100 minutes!

I sell Sprint, Verizon, and Cingular BTW if anyone is intersted!

Verizon and Sprint Suck. Old technology (CDMA) Code Division Multiple Access. Sprint piggybacks off of Verizon anyway. They also use Analog, and both technologies are old, and unprecise. Thus your handset is trying to find signal, and ends up finding it in the form of an analog tower in WI because the digital tower 2 miles from you is too weak, or the network is too busy.

Cingular and T-Mobile both use (GSM) Global System for Moblie communications. Newer technology, and the world standard. I have T-Mobile, and since they became T-Mobile (Voicestream, Aeiral) I HAVE NEVER DROPPED A CALL, and never gone over my minutes. Not to mention I have access to every network in the nation, so there is never Roaming. Even in extreme southern Canada.

Cingular (AT&T) used to use, and I'm not sure if they still do, TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) This technology was compatible with Analog service, so they used it on their Multiple mode phones. This technology is also old, and sucks ass.

I pay about $65 a month after taxes for 1200 Daytime, UNLTD Nights and Weekends 8pm, UNLTD text messages, Free Nationwide Roaming, and Long Distance.

Only catch: It's an ALL digital network. Some Rural areas will not be covered.

I've had AT&T using a Nokia and Panasonic, Verizon with a Motorola, Midwest Wireless with a Nokia, and Aieral and Voicestream/T-Moble with a Nokia and Motorola. I love T-Mobile

I always used to tell people, if they spend 98% of their time in the city, go with T-Mobile.

My roommate had the OVERAGE problem with Verizon. They corrected it 4 months later after about 3 hours of bitching. Good luck!

Go to another phone company, PORT your number, then
Pay your $200 to get the hell outta dodge. This overage thing wont stop for you, get out now while you can.

Why not just stay within your plan limits? Shit sons, I pay $25 unlimited local calling from my house...if you are talking on the phone that much you might as well just stay home. Or as Reid says, "Just fucking go over there!"

It's all about being within your plans or having the right plan. I knwo the verizon system inside and out as I used to work for verizons main call center here in MN in several areas. Verizon is hands down one of if not the best out there. I would hate to have an all digital provider cause there are so many areas I go that don't have digital service. And I will be damned if I am gonn break down somehwere and not be able to make a phone call in the middle of nowhere because of it.

That kind of is a good point considering the cars most of us drive.

I have had Verizon forever and it works almost everywhere, even when I drive down to work in Red Wing it only loses the signal in one spot and thats it.

Plus Verizon has a place on their site where you can log in and check your minutes. Just go to verizonwireless.com and set it up, you can pay your bill and check your minutes throughout the month so you don't go over.

T-Mobile allows you to dial a number on your phone and it tells you your minutes. But I agree it does suck not having any analog coverage. They just finally got service at Rock Falls, now I can't use the excuse that my phone doesn't work there when my girl calls.

AT&T is also GSM, they were actually one of the first ones to go GSM, they started over 2 years ago. Until this year it really sucked, they are finally getting a decent amount of towers around so the coverage isn't too bad.

I have 3 cell phones that I use (AT&T, Nextel, & Verizon). Verizon definately has the best coverage.
