After I pulled a 2.4L 4G64 out of a 94 Eagle Summit AWD today, I took a look at the transfer case. It 'looks' exactly like my 1G awd transfer case. Could this be used in DSMs?

depends on how many splines it has. I would guess no, but that is just a total guess. Compare them side by side and look for any differences.

You need to know the gearing ratio of the transfer case also. Even on DSMs, you can't go randomly swapping transfer cases from one car to another even if they fit. If you have the wrong transfer case on for your rear end or tranny then your viscous coupler will probably burn up. If you have a welded VC in, then your rear end will probably start smoking and soon lockup.
