Alright, well we ran into a slight problem today on the dyno, we had a severe sputtering problem all day long that adversely affected our tuning. I later found that the spark plugs wires were bad and completely resolved the issue we had, too bad that was after the dyno tuning!

Anyways, through all of the stuttering it still managed 434 whp and 380 lb/ft of torque at about 25 psi on 110. Tune was very conservative due to the fact that RS motorsports wouldn't let me use their wideband with race gas!

After solving the sputtering problem the car pulls much much harder. We have a pretty decent tune at 25 psi that I will be using for the shootout. Maybe when I get back we can play around with some higher boost levels

Off to the shootout baby!

Yeah it was an exciting night for us huh? After randomly driving to get a good tune, we stop by elite to bump up the boost and open the cutout. Well as we pull out of elite's parking lot I go for a second gear pull, which pulled extremely hard until the loud POP! I almost crapped my pants and shut it down. I hop out and someone points out that I am leaking pretty heavily.

Well as it turns out my drain plug for the T case worked itself out! The best part is that at the exact same time an intercooler pipe decided to blow off causing my car to shut down. Had I not pulled over for the intercooler pipe blow off the T case would have locked up and I would be screwed.

It is unbelievable how lucky I got that nothing was damaged in the T case at all, and that the intercooler pipe blew off at the exact time so I would stop.

So if you see a two block streak of tranny fluid on the street parallel to elite you know what it's from!

What an interesting night, man oh man...

Very nice numbers especially being an AWD Dyno.

Congrats can't wait to see it at 30psi and a nice tune. :3gears:

Lol, well like I said we had some major sputtering/popping problems on the dyno, and didn't get it to run right until later last night. But for 25-26 psi and a pretty bad tune due to the popping I would say that 434 ain't half bad, especially on stock head, cams, and intake manifold!

Maybe Josh wants to enlighten everyone on his estimates for horsepower after we fixed the plug wires?

Expect me to be on elite's dyno shortly after the shootout, assuming my tranny is in one piece And the hell with 30 psi, we'll just jump to 35 and see if I can't get up to a respectable spot on that leader board!

Should have just dynoed at Elite in the first place. We actually let people use our wideband for some strange reason and we would have replaced the plugs after the first signs of misfire since that problem only happens about 95% of the time when you try to run high boost with leaded gas on used plugs.

What's the advantage to running Teflon coated pistons? I've heard of ceramic coated pistsons and cryno treating pistons but never teflon coating.

Teflon just helps prevent scuffing on the skirts and reduces friction.

The plug wires were actually the problem on the dyno rather than the plugs, swapping the plugs wouldn't have changed it, the wires were pretty bad. The setup was far from perfect and a number of things could have been changed to improve the outcome, time and money right before the SO are limiting factors at this point.
