What would you guys Pay?

So i have had an ad out looking for parts around my town. I had someone call me that has a 1990 laser with no title, pretty much a parts car. He said the car runs great, but has high miles, and it has body damage. I am not totally sure about how bad the damage is, he said it needs to fenders and a door. But the interior is all there, and i wanted to swap interior anyway. But i have no clue on what to offer him. What do you guys think is a fair price?

well if it dont have a title... whats the point? fenders are screwd and needs a door? thats alot of work.. and why swap the interior if no title?

The guy said i could take it for a test drive. So engine trans and what not are all there. And yes i want to swap the interior into my Laser so it would be just a parts car. The guy told me the car has around 170,000 miles on it. but supposedly runs great, I will see tonight.

Considering it has no title and body damage I would say $500 at the absolute max only if the interior is immaculate and tranny/engine/drivetrain are solid, I would try for closer to $200 if it's in typical beater condition. 1990 is the least desirable DSM, especially a FWD Laser.

All of the 40+ dsm's I have bought and parted I have never paided over 500.00 for one of them. With out a title no more than 350.00

Cool, thanks for the input guys. I was supposed to look at the car tonight but i got back in town way to late. So it will be tomorrow that i get to look at it.

So i went and looked at the car and wow. Just wow. The car was hit hard in the right front headlight, it was smashed into the air cleaner. Both doors were damaged, missing right front fender. Interior was ok, both back trim pieces by the speakers were trashed. No headliner. He said it ran good. And it did fire up, after a little chug chug. I checked the timing belt to see how it looked, it looked ok, but that dont mean nothing. 167,000 miles and no record of a timing belt ever being changed. And on the test drive the clutch had to be pressed hard to the floor to not grind, and when really getting on it in 2nd and 3rd, the boost gauge wouldn't read past 0. and i couldn't for sure hear it. And than he tells me he wants right around $800 for the car cause thats what the motor is worth. Oh ya, and the kid is like 15 that has the car.
